Vick has been in discussions with Sacramento State to become their next head coach, ESPN reports on Monday.

Vick also told The Virginian-Pilot that he has had conversations about potentially getting the Norfolk State job.

However, the Sacramento Bee reported that Vick was not a candidate for the Sacramento State job, citing an unnamed "member of the school's athletic department" who said the ESPN report was a rumor.
Sacramento State University President Luke Wood issued a statement to ESPN regarding the Vick rumors.
"He expressed interest in the position, and yes, I did meet with him to discuss his interest in Sac State football and the rise of our athletics. As you can imagine, given the success of our athletic programs, our Head coaching football is an attractive job role," Wood said.
If Vick accepts the head coaching job, it will be his first job since retiring from the NFL. After retiring, he worked as an NFL analyst for Fox Sports.
Vick was jailed for nearly two years after pleading guilty to funding a dog-fighting operation, which also caused him to miss the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
Vick had to reshape his image, and the NFL eventually allowed him to play with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent five seasons after his release from prison in 2009. The Steelers played briefly.
