I made a lot of progress last week. I now have very little sciatica pain in my legs. I still have some soreness in my left hip and sacroiliac joint, but at least the nerves aren't pinched. My easy ride lasted an hour, which was plenty of time for relaxation. I'm also carefully doing strength training for the muscles around my hips and it's well tolerated. I won't push it any further until I see my orthopedic surgeon on Monday and hear what he has to say. But I'm very happy with the progress so far, and having already had one setback, I don't see any reason to risk getting it back any faster.
