Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein" headed to Netflix later this year, but Andrew Garfield will not be part of the holidays. The Starvala "Social Network" was originally thrown as a creature, just to give up the project and replace it with The Euphoria Starvedza Jaceacob Elordi, which we now know has refused to audition for Jamesesi Gun Superman. Given that, why did Garfield give up Del Toro's adaptation to Mary Shelley's horror story icon? And what made Ellors the director's next choice to play the creature?

In an interview with Magazine EmpireDel Toro revealed that Garfield's schedule is too full after Hollywood reopened after Conclusion of the Joint Strike WGA and SAG-AFTRA in 2023. This left this with nine weeks (give or take) to rethink his monstrous character or risk his dream project failing. However, he knew that Elordi was an actor for his work after seeing his eyes. As Del Toro recalls:

"The way I cast, I cast my eyes. I always look in the actor's eyes and say," Can they give me that emotion? "Oscar's eyes, I immediately knew he could play seriously or crazy and brilliant.

Unlike Superman, Elordi was more than happy to have been part of Del Toro's "Frankenstein" because of the long -term appreciation for the director's work. That said, the actor "Euphoria" never expected the role to be offered.

However, it was still a surprise to Elordi when his agent informed him that the director had chosen him to play the creature. As he told the Empire:

"Quite arrogant, when the film was released, for some reason, I was leading my agent, saying," I would like to make that movie. " Then the years went through, and he called me and said, "I have a script for you. I said, 'Get f ** ed!' Like, 'you are kidding!' I thought it might be to play a tree or a horse or something.

The rest is, as they say, history. Andrew Garfield would probably be great in the role, but the elords are more than capable of reinforcing the plate on its own. The early views of Frankenstein were also very positive, with Elordi's performance being particularly praised as one of the biggest highlights of the film.

Frankenstein will open in selected theaters on October 17, 2025, before being transferred to Netflix everywhere, starting three weeks later on November 7.
