It's also a sad story. The camera squirrel seems to have not been well trained. For some of the more fleeting shots, a false squirrel was placed on Chase's shoulder, while the squirrel's craps were captured quickly. The scene was gathered in the editing, without the squirrel to make a lot of active. The reason why the squirrel was not well trained is that it is a last -minute replacement. The original squirrel trained for the role seems to have died of a heart attack immediately before the filming began. The film's animal handler was Scott Hart, who also worked on films such as "aircraft, trains and cars", "Shoashank" and "anger management". He was probably the one who had to mourn the death of the first squirrel while he was in a hurry to find another.

The squirrel's death was confirmed by Beverly D'Agello, played by Ellen Griswald in "Christmas Holiday" when he recently spoke at Fan Expo Chicago (manually covered with EW).
