The Grand Final proves how essentially the best character of the franchise

This article contains spoilers For "Downton Opatija: The Grand Final".

If we feel like saying goodbye to "Downton Opatija" for a long time, that's because we have. The melodrama ITV period initially ended in 2015 with the sixth series "Christmas Special. Almost every character received the best of sending as much as it can be obtained. But, with the show exploding in a global phenomenon, it was inevitable to return to any form. Crowley still lives in the luxury of the early 20th century, there was plenty of room to tell more stories.

In My review for "Downton Opatija: New era", I praised the film as a vibrant and emotional sequel that brought the best of his charming characters. Most of the Crowley clan had to go on vacation in the south of France, while Lady Mary (Michel Dockers) was left behind to help transform the quiet image into Toki. It was like a great socializing movie that at the same time hit with a wave of melancholy and optimism for the future. Favorite characters of fans like Mr Molisli (Kevin Doyle) even ended up finding their niche in writing scripts. There is also the question of Thomas Barrow of Robert Jamesimes-Colier, which ends with a happy ending that allows him to accept his queer identity with Suave Movie Star Guy Dexter (Dominique West). Talk to Starswells like Jimim Carter and Raquel Cassids for the print tour of that film for several years Highlights how these actors have settled comfortably in their roles over the past decade or the like.

Probably the greatest strength of "Downton Opatija: The Grand Final" lies in seeing these beloved characters to prepare for a bold new future, even if the film is incredibly unusual in building that feeling. But there is a noticeable absence in the ensemble in the Violet Crowley of Dam Maggie Smith, otherwise called the Countess Douder. Where her fictional colleague died of a peaceful death in the end of a "new era", Smith unfortunately died several months after the film was released. The third film, which is memorized in her honor, puts Crowley in a position where they do not have their beloved matriarch there to offer their contribution. Unfortunately, the "grand finale" feels empty without the presence of Smith.

Downton Opatija is not the same without the Countess of Dame Maggie Smith

Smith may not consider his mandate with "Downton Opatija" as one of the peaks of her long and glorious career, But she was undoubtedly one of the best characters in the franchise. Violet, according to all points, does not carry the cynical and fierce edge of her colleague at Gosford Park, otherwise known as "Steping Stone" for "Downton Opatija". Creator Jululian Felies has decided to give up the important sequence of his academy rewarding scenario and rely on what will become a nostalgic shade of this series, this character deprived of its unpleasant nature. Instead, the Douugar became a matriarch of the Crowley family, whose strenuously dry spiritual led to Some of the best insults on TV.

In Downton Opatija, the resistance of purple to the changes was often presented as attractive. It could often be considered the highest level in the room, living through so much history. Through her friendship with cousin Isobel (Penelope Wilton), purple will show signs of growth in her attitude towards progress. No one is more surprised by her change in ghosts and opinions than her. Purple will often have a smile on her, because she loves her family way too to let her stubbornness of traditions. Having purple in the absence in the "Grand Final" leaves Lady Mary in a position to lead things on its own, but the film unfortunately suffers as a result.

I feel that I need to make a note that it is not the guilt of Downton Opatija that Smith's real life prevents her from making a look here. In fact, when the last scene began to show memories of the past, I was deeply concerned that they were will withdraw "Cobra Kai" and use AI deep to bring it back to life For a last tears with Lady Maria. Fortunately, this has not happened; Its inclusion is made up of reproduced footage from previous seasons of the show.

The problem lies in how the ensemble feels like dramatically hovering in the wind without her character. Crowns that are forced to consider by its growth in the world without it is a great concept that can lead to emotional discoveries and difficult truths about reducing tolerance for aristocratic lifestyle, but the "grand finale" is allergic to any significant change. "New Era" should probably have been the end of it in retrospect, given how this new film offers no more radical conclusion without it. However, although the "grand finale" is found as a covert call for curtains, it guarantees that Smith's legacy will no doubt live.

"Downton Opatija: The Grand Final" is now playing in cinemas across the country.
