After six series, five Christmas specialists and two feature films, "Downton Opatija: The Grand Final" finally brought the widespread ITV melodrama, and what kind of trip it is. The seemingly final feature of "Downton Opatija" that continues to accept its faux nostalgic shine is even more disappointing when you think there are hints of much bolder movie there somewhere.

The last scene of "Downton Abbey: The Motion Picture" sees Mr -Din Carson (Jimim Carter) dealing with how they have crawls -and will continue to lead the property, only for Ms Hughes (Filis Logan) to follow ". "Downton Opatija" has always thrown a soft and easy responses to their problems, which mostly work in the context of immediate changes. This is their last walking, I guess, so to see them going on the easy track, the whole company feels superfluous and makes a pretty boring movie. It should not be surprising that the stories of the staff in the bottom make up some of the best moments of the film, as there are real stakes with their lives. The "Grand Final" is just as predictable as you can get for such a series, and that's a shame.
