After the first film made over a billion dollars by the global treasurer, the fast -paced sequel to "Super Mario Bros." was inevitable. And now, we know exactly what that sequel will be.

The illumination and Nintendo have officially released "Super Mario Galaxy", with the date of release already set for April 3, 2026. If you are a gamer or Nintendo fanboy, that title has certainly made the ears down: The 2007 Super Mario Galaxy game is clear and its 2010 "Super Mario Galaxy 2." What, given Nintendo's record for overall quality with titles starring their acrobatic plumber, is a lot.

The obvious question here is the same question that existed with the original film. There is not a very appropriate narrative in the Galaxy Games, whose characters are purely as avatars for your classes spent winning brilliant and often brutal challenges on the platform. But it is clear why lighting and Nintendo called for this call. The visual capabilities for the movie "Mario Galaxy" are endless, especially since the games allow Mario to literally pass the outer space, jumping from the planetoid to the asteroid and back. While the first film had its own fair share of errors (named her thin paper script), it was not denied how stunning it looks and sounds, catching the spirit of the original universe in Mario in all her true iconic glory. By taking the characters in space, the film only avoids giving us more of them and clearly intends to offer a completely new included in visual pleasures.

The title announcement came with a short trailer (watch it above) that offers nothing above the kingdom of the kingdom with mushrooms as we tease the cosmic setting. As expected, much of the original film cast will be returned, including Mario (Chris Pratt), Princess Pich (Anja Taylor-Hoyj), Luigi (Charlie Day), Bauzer (Jackec Black), Frog (Kigan-Michael). Namely is missing: Seth Rogen, which means there is no room for the donkey Kong in the outside, obviously.

No new characters or voice actors were published, but one character to be expected is Rosalina, the "guardian of the cosmos", which drags Mario into his scientific search to save the universe. Although new to the standards of the long shadow of Mario pop culture, Rosalina is immensely popular with fans and you can expect to find another actor A-writing that is taking the part, as is the casting of Illumination modus.

Maybe "New-Esh" is the reason why "Super Mario Galaxy" really has my attention. Instead of relying purely on nostalgia and 30, 40-year-old iconography, it is clear that film adaptations of the game series are very happy that they also get out of the newer games. It's a smart choice: people who grew up playing "Galaxy" are old enough to buy movie tickets, similar to Olds (ie me) who grew up playing "Super Mario 64" and felt clearly obliged to watch the original film by default. It is clear that the whole franchise in Mario is on the table for this series. Visual promises are amazing. I hope they bring a better scenario this time around.
