Critical Reception of Legend of Animation A disgusting new feature of Gandy Tartakovski, "fixed", It's definitely mixed, but if there is one thing everyone agrees, it's that 2D animation is really phenomenal. Netflix has a one -year hell in the animation department, with "KPOP Demon Hunters" becomes a graph sensation And early buzzing about the upcoming "In Your Dreams" edition, proving that Juggernaut for streaming has become a legitimate candidate in the animation space. As the creator of the series that appear as "Laboratory of Dexter", "Samurai Jackec" and His great job, he "received" Tartakovski is a kind of creative that should be handed over empty checks for whatever it wants - even if it is a film that has talking dogs and approximately 100 testicles for the testicles. When it comes to animation styles, he really did it all, and when it comes to "fixed", he knew the story needed a classic, famous look.
As he told me during our interview with the weekly podcast, "the story requires a certain style of animation, right? The "fixed" animation is reminiscent of cartoons that make many people in the media in the first place. "It is the one who connected with me much more than Disney or Don Blat or whatever," says Gendy. "It's this style of Avery/Warner Brothers without big stupid eyes." The style adds a fun part of the film subversion, mixing vulgarity with a sense of nostalgic fun.
But it's not just the style of a "fixed" that is worth noting, but the execution. Even with a relatively low budget for an animated feature film, "Fix" is animated at a level usually reserved for theater editions. According to Tartakovski, the animators worked at that level because they were excited. After several years of work only in CGI animation or children's price, the chance to work on something in 2D and for adults just made them more enthusiastic.
Fixed animators wanted to be one another
Gendy Tartakovski said there is a list of people he loves and wants to work on the film and employs about 80% of that list. "I never thought we would reach this level because we were a pretty low budget (...), but suddenly they started to animate it, as at the theater level, and then they began to look at each other's scenes and they started to with each other," Tartakovski said. "And they are like," Oh, that person is doing it (so), I will make myself harder to do this even better, "and then suddenly, we got this amazing quality of animation. It improved humor, gave this amazing classic nostalgic style, but with this contemporary story, it did so."
And it's not Just That 2D animation has become increasingly rare in the feature film landscape. Despite the fact That animation is not just for childrenThe price of the family, of course, has been stunned by the media. Meaning, most of the animators spend most of their days animating the children's party (Needed for the record!). Getting the opportunity to work on something for adults, even if it means aning the dogs that make it "human style", was filled with impatient excitement. "They were like, an animator of" Roger Rabbit "and Disney's ex-animators, and they just exploded because they were never able to work on this kind," Tartakovski says. "So, they were like," Who, I can do it, "and they just went for it."
And they went for it, they did it, and you can see the results in "fixed", now Netflix streaming. To hear our full interview with Gendy Tartakovski, check out the latest episode of /movie weekly:
