One thing that really separated Seinfeld from her peer peers was her extremely disinterest in all kinds of will/no with the main characters Jerryryers and Elaine. Okay, the show included a little bit of that dynamics - Jerryiers and Elaine dated the show and were occasionally linked to the performance - but it always seemed clear that writers did not care about both as a couple.

In an interview in 2024 with TimesIaululia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) explained that the NBC's executions were pressuring a romantic story between Jerry and Elaine, but a special writer in the show was firmly against it. "But Larry (David) was just real estate at that moment," she explains. "The play was built on doing things that were out of the norm, so making something stereotypical would be atypical for the show."

When the show surrendered to the network demands for some Jerryi/Elaine action, they always did so with the air of malicious compliance. In season 2 "Agreement", Jerry and Elaine briefly socialized with benefits and Seinfeld's perpetrators were apparently frustrated by how little tension was involved In the story based on the sex of the two.

Although the show never followed any kind of jerryjer/elaine romance, they seemed to have trolled Jelain's senders every time and over. The most huge example is probably the final of the series: there is a scene where the plane appears to be crashed, which encourages Elaine to give the obvious romantic confession to Jerry. But before he can extract the words, the rights of the plane and realizes he will not die. At the moment when the threat of death is behind her, she never reveals what she wanted to say.

This relationship creates a fun subversion of audience expectations, because Sitkom's usual trophy is to pair the remaining single characters in the series final. For example, "friends" waited until the last minutes of their duration to give Ross and Rachel their happy ending, while "crazy men" (not Sitcom, but still a funny show) threw a romantic confession between Peggy and Stan. Even the NBC's "community", Sitkom in the early 2010, who shared a lot of Larry David's contempt for serious romantic arcs, at least had their will/no couples kissing several times before the loans rolled.

When the first part of the Seinfeld final appeared almost a romantic confession between Jerry and Elaine, it was natural to expect the second half to pay that thread in some way. Instead, Larry David and other writers gave us mostly absurdly cold, unpredictable Sitkom finale they ever made. The episode even haunted David's final "prevented your enthusiasm", Like Larry Atone to put Seinfeld's gang in prison for his mistake. David said early that he would never make Jerryiers and Elaine item and he kept his word.
