From the very beginning, something is not about Sam's hellish agreement. In the "pilot", Ben tells him that the prince of the lies must be, well, to lie to his soul's ownership because Sam himself did not sign on the dotted line. That idea is not followed in the episode itself, but plant seed for future episodes. Tips built to the penultimate episode of Season 1, "Leakage", finally suggests that Sam is not the ThrageVol of the devil: he is the devil of the devil son. Devavol keeps Sam around, it seems, because he trains him to be part of the family business. But while everyone in the Reaper Season 2 continues as if Sam is really the son of Satan, the devil himself never confirms this.

In the final of the season 1 "Cancun", Johnon is a seemingly buried alive ... Accent of aliveBecause it doesn't kill him. He returns in season 2, looking like a zombie, claiming that his contract with the devil "does not die" is apparently valid in eternity. When Sam faces him for the devil who is obviously his father, Johnon says he cannot reveal the truth.

In Interview for 2010 with cliqulacktvJasekas and Buters have confirmed that the devil is no Sam's father. Johnon is, but there is a twist:

"(Sam's father) was a demon, who signed a contract with the devil. He's for Inuubi in Sam's mother and wanted to marry her. So the deal was, well, you're not a demon anymore."

"The Devavol was really worried that this kid would be his fall," Hazecas and Butter continued, but the devil also knew, in the words of Darth Veder, "if he could turn, he would be a powerful ally."

If you review the series with this information, then the mysteries click on the place, as well as the devil's actions. "If you look at what the devil is doing during the series, he is trying to tempt Sam to be bad," said Jasekas and Buters. Devavol allowing Sam to believe that he is his son works in his favor, because he allows him to impose his corruption on Sam in the mask of the father's council.

Fazekas & Butters admit they had no step-by-step plan on how the story would continue, but they predicted a happy ending where Sam avoided his contract. The real recorded end of "Reaper" is not that, but that's hope. Angel Steve (Michael Ian Black) appears before Sam and Andy and assures them, in essence, that God works in mysterious ways. It is still a shame that the Reaper season 3 has not fit into the great design of the Lord.
