Werner Herzog's film "Rescue Zora" (which hit American theaters in the summer of 2007) was a semi-fixed retelling of his own documentary in 1997 "Little Dieter should fly". The documentary was followed by Dieter Dengler, a German-American pilot whose plane was shot down during the Vietnam war, leading to its closure and torture at the jungle power camp. Herzog took Dengler back to Laos and Thailand to revive his experiences there. "Rescue Dawn" is expanding its re -creation into a full script drama. Herzog, always a sticker for authenticity, returned to Thailand to shoot at the locations where Dengler was lost and organized his escape.
