It's never a show that hesitate to play with the franchise tropes, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" is here to give fans ... Star Trek parody. "Space Adventure Hour" begins with a play in a play called "Last Border", where the actor at the Maxwell Saint-Saint (Paul Wesley, who also plays the Jameses T. Kirk of the show) gives a lot ... Animated performance by William Shatner. From vulgar effects to luxurious excessive action, the show is obvious respect to the smaller budgets of the "Star Trek: The Original Series" era, and ends very well to connect with the theme of the episode.

It's not even "Tos". At the end of the episode, the play treats us with in-inVerse "Last limit" GAG REL, which most focuses on the defect of set doors and a suspicious tendency to play lines from other actors-one alleged reasons why the right-wing shutters couldn't stand it. However, close to the end, the episode borrows a page from the game "Star Trek: Next Generation" by trying to end the captain's leg over the captain's chair, breaking the chair in the process.

This unsuccessful attempt is a clear referral to the commander of Athonatan Freyks, William Reeker, who usually uses this particular maneuver to sit down. Since this is the only knot in the era of "next generation" and frekeing, so it happened to direct this particular episode, it is clear that it is not only aware of the Reeker maneuver chair, but actively supports it.

If we need additional proof of how much freesty enjoys this special style of seating, this is not the first time the show has called. In "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" Season 2, Episode 7 ("those old scientists")The series offers an honest crossover with the animated series "Star Trek: Lower decks". This episode is also directed by Freyks, and it is unlikely that it is a coincidence that there is a particularly prominent Reeker maneuver.

The reference comes with the courtesy of the observed Reeker Baditer and the main character "Dolni decks", Enzig Brad Boimler (Jackack Kwaid). At one point, he sits on a Reeker -style chair, but is not satisfied with that. Instead, he proudly announces loud: "Reeker!"

"Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" ends after season 5But there is still time for Fries to direct a few more episodes. If this happens, it will be fun to see what further references to maneuvering Reeker can drain them before a series to deal with the events of the "original series".
