The latest DC Studios television project is a TV -Booster Gold Show by David Enenkins (creator of "Our Flag Mean Death"), which is ordered to pilot in HBO Max (After the deadline). Booster Gold (created by Dan Jurgen in 1986), Aka Jonon Michael Carter, is a superhero for a time of the future. Although he is greeted by the 25th century, his story is known: he is a Hawk that climbed to high school (caught gambling will do so for you). So, he travels back in time in the hope of becoming a big fish in a smaller pond.
Although Booster is a thick and self-promotioning fame, he is not a bad man. He is similar to the takeover of Jameseims Gun for Peter Quil/Star-Lord and so should fit naturally into the new Gun DC universe if his pilot moves forward. "Booster Gold" is not the only TV show DCU in the works.
DC Studios has Greenlit Animated series based on Mr. Miracle, And the live series "Lanterns" arrives at HBO in early 2026. The latter will show the green lantern Gad Gardner (Nathan Fillion), who previously appeared in Superman. Guy is part of the "Justice gang", a group of heroes funded by the rich Max Lord (John Gun). The gang is likely to get a rebrand in the justice league ... Specifically, I bet, justice league InternationalThe team co-created in 1987 by writers MM. Demateis and Keith Giffen and artist Kevin Maguier.
JLI's lining was fluid, but the essential characters included Max Lord (who collected the team together in his role as the United Nations Agent), Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire & Ice, Guy Gardner, Mister Miracle and his wife Big Barda, Black Canary, Batman and Martian Manhunter). Back when we got our first glance Guy Gardner of Philion's trailer "Superman" last December, I wrote how Gun, using Guy and Max Lord, pointed out that he is withdrawing from "international justice". Booster gold and master miracle entry into the PCC adds proof of the pile. So Gun completely saying Kevin Maguier's work influenced the DCI.
What separates JLI from the other leagues? "Justice League International" has is described as more than comedy on the workplace for superheroes Than a typical adventurous series, and it relyed on humor as it took place. Knowing what Gun wants for superheroes, Reading the comic books "Justice League International" may provide insight into his PCC plans.
The International for Justice League was a crew of superheroes
In 1986, DC Comics restarted their widespread, decade -long continuity after Event mini-series "Crisis of Infinite Country" From MARV Wolfmann and George Perez. The characters and books were again started with fresh start and modern sensitivity. BYON BIRN restarted Superman (another impact on Gun)Frank Miller wore the torch of "Dark Knight Returns" to "Batman: One Year", and the aforementioned Perez again made Wonder Woman.
Meanwhile, IFFIFEN, Dematis and Maguier were appointed by editor Andy Helfer to make the new "justice league" - which was an unexpected hit; "I thought we were doomed to ruin", Said Giffen Many years later on a panel with demais. You may notice that the only household name between JLI is Batman, but the book has turned what was supposed to be a weakness in force. Dematheis told Fandomwir in 2021:
"The original lineup was dictated by the DC editorial office. We had no voice in it. It was in our favor that, for the most part, we received a group of characters considered a second lane, because it gave us a license to make ours. Let us imprint with our unique POV."
The result was an electrical (and eccentric) ensemble of characters that did not gather. The Batman Strait and Feminist Black Canarian Scratch Against Pig Gardner. The Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, and both fraudulent insidiouss largely fired from their teammates, form a dynamic duo of strivers. (One timeThey even opened a casino together ... and they failed miserable.)
If there is a comic book writer, whom the Jameses Gun is mostly echoed, it is a giffen and demais that writes the justice league. Quotation of Dematis of Making "Second Stringer" characters in their own? Gun did so in Marvel with the Guardian of the Galaxy. Contemporary "guardians" comics were a more serious space opera for a bunch of military veterans trying to maintain peace. Gun turned that story, and her vague leading characters, in a non-permanent but emotionally sincere action-comedy about holes and miracles that find their place together. The result? The Galaxy guards are now on Marvel Comics' A-Work.
Like the post-crisis comics since the late 1980s, Gun previous DC universe ends. Giffen, Dematises and Maguier have embraced a new tone as a rejuvenation of storytelling, and Gun follows footsteps.
