Disney studio and 20th century released a new trailer for the upcoming "predator: Badlands" today, and offered a much more thorough overview of the director Dan Trahtenberg's subsequent action to the highly prized "prey" on Dan Trachtenberg by 2022. While that film has taken matters into the distant past, this new entry in the franchise will take us deep into the future. Also, very obviously, it will deliver a large scientific crossover, perhaps even building a new cinema universe. Get ready for a new "foreign" https://www.slashfilm.com/ "Predator" Shared Universe.
The first trailer "Badlands" introduced us to the character of El JanningAndroid named Tia. Eagle fans have noticed that her eyes have a logo in Wayland-Schiutani, citing the company that produces Androids in the "alien" universe. It seemed to have laid the foundations to collect these universes for the first time from the films "Alien against Predator" in the early 2000s. This latest trailer makes it undoubtedly clear that this is exactly what is happening.
For one, we see this in bad shape with the words "Wayland-Schiutani" that appear on the screen of ordinary view. The last stroke of the trailer is both this and her young predator friend, who are moving away from a large robotic machine, not unlike the loader from the end of the "foreigners". Without going out and saying that, it's obviously what's happening here. The studio also keeps the specifics greatly under the wrappers, as the official synopsis, which is as follows, maintains things quite vague:
"Predator: Badlands," starring Ele Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Callomangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young predator, omitted by his clan, finds an incredible ally in this (fans) and used treacherous trips in search of the final opponent.

There are other hints in the latest Badlands trailer that suggests that more. At one point, Tia says: "You came to the most dangerous planet in the universe" while talking to an unnamed young predator in the center of the story. She then adds: "You are after a creature that cannot be killed. The definitive predator at the top."
The planet remains unnamed and has several large, dangerous creatures in the trailer. But reading between the lines, it seems that this one can talk about Xenomorph, despite everything we actually see on the screen. Whether this film appears Xenomorph or not, the outcome is the same: the films "Foreign" and "Predator" films clearly exist in the same universe. It carries large implications.
"Alien vs. Predator" was a solid hit at the 2004 box officeleading to a very abused sequel "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem". These films are no longer part of the "foreign" canon, but there was always a belief among fans that they were canon in the "predator" universe. With what Trahtenberg does here, Disney is likely to fully exclude those canon films.
The other important thing to discuss is last year's Alien: Romulu. Directed by Fedi Alvarez, The end of Romulus saw the rain (Kail Spani) and Andy (David Onsonson) are referring to an unknown world. Without diving too far in speculative territory here, can their final destination include predators and xenomorphs? Evidence is increasing that more significant crossover is in cards.
Is Disney Building to New Film "Alien Against Predator"?
So what is that ultimate game, exactly? Another movie "Alien vs. Predator"? That would make sense, but the head of the 20th -century studio Steve Asbel addressed the issue in an interview in October 2024 with Hollywood reportersuggesting that it would not be as simple as that. Here's what he had to say about it:
"It wouldn't be in the way you think. It's something. Not the way it will just be called Alien against Predator or something like the original films. If we do, they will be organically created by these two franchises that we continued with the characters we are involved in and those characters will be combined ... maybe".
Where does that leave us? We certainly know that the "Alien: Romul" sequel is already in the works. It can help further build a bridge on this "predator" crossover, whatever the form needed. As Asbel says, it would not be reduced as the reboot of AVP. To make more speculation about the specifics, it seems to be a fool. We will probably know much more after the Badlands comes out.
The other key thing is that the animated "Predator: Killer Killer" added some crazy *** to OreuboIt is clear that it is almost possible for everything possible in this universe. If the xenomorphs exist in the same galaxy as Hawja, they undoubtedly encountered the paths of each other. We have to wait and see Trahtenberg decided to connect those points.
"Predator: Badlands" hits theaters on November 7, 2025.
