Look for the sky! It's a bird, it's an aircraft, it's spoiler WARNING For "Superman!"
Jameseshei Gun's "Superman" is an incredible feat. The film manages to return the title of superhero to the basics after a decade of films and shows the image of the image. Instead of making a Superman monster or fully genocide as more cynical recent stories, Superman makes the radical choice to be inadvertently silly, seriously and honest film For a real good person who respects his whole life, he appreciates truth and justice and is here just trying to save people as he struggles for a better tomorrow.
Although the film is a solid golden age in how much the political Superman is, it is also a very Love Collection to the comic books of the Silver era of DC in terms of its tone and miraculous concepts. This is, after all, a film in which Kayu attacks Metropolis, Monkeys to write keyboard keyboard, posting an online rageNonsense heroes fly around the left and right, and no one draws an eye on any of them. Even the big real estate scheme of Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hult) is quite detailed, even to its standards.
The comfort works in any small part because Gun creates a world that feels like lived, allowing Superman to launch a cinema universe that can support any stories and tones. Unlike the extended universe of DCThis new DC universe already feels like a connected, comic book-based on books, where characters like Swamp Thing and Booster Gold could empathize without being activated without asking too much audience.
However, probably the most silver age in "Superman" is also the character that makes the film the brightest: the crypto super dog.
The dog stole the show in Superman tomorrow
It would be easy for Gun to portray crypto as a perfect dog, much like the traditional white Labrador of DC comic books and cartoons, which are shown as noble, strong and worthy to be called "Superdog". Instead, CCU crypto is a cute ball of pure chaos. Indeed, it is a terrible wrong behavior super-cow that steals every scene in which it is located. The first scene in Superman also makes it clear that crypto will be important for the story, as he literally saves man from steel, after his first big defeat leaves him to make Jamca's death.
I really had to see this arrival, given how good it is in writing the loved ones, animals that steal the heart, which end up becoming very important for his films. He not only made the world be for inubes in a tree that speaks and raccoon, but even found a way to Turn Marvel's big movie "WE3" adaptation with "Guardians of Galaxy Tom 3." Now, with Superman, Gun once again gives us a cute companion to animals, which is easy to love and can pull on heart attacks. It is no coincidence that Superman (David Corenvet) is on his angry and most emotionally vulnerable when facing Lex for his stolen super-poup.
And yet, just like this "Superman" undermines Krypton's history (turning Superman into Goku in the process), also drastically changes the way people see crypto. To be sure, this version of crypto is far from obedient or good behavior. Instead, he is a demonic network that has more in common with Clark Kent. Whether he inadvertently beats Superman with his superpower by jumping all over it, destroying the varied gadgets of Mr. Terifir (Eddie Gateghi), or looks cute playing with the Kent family cows (at least until Superman has made it clear that he has to stop him from randomly).
Crypto is essential for Superman's story
Far from a celebrated mascot that is there to sell toys, crypto is thematically relevant to both Superman and the fabric of the larger PCC. As for this last part, we get hints of film that people are surprised by the existence of this alien dog, with both Lex and even Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) who did not know that the steel man had a dog. Hence, when we reach the end of the film and reveal that Superman is only dogs sitting for his cousin Kara Zor-El, aka Super Super (Milli Alcock), it creates a great way to pick up the latter and her upcoming solo film. Is also why Superger's appearance is probably the best coming in the movieWhile she pays off one of the film's runs.
Then there is the greater importance of crypto about the story in "Superman". In a way, Super-Cup is like humanity for Superman: it is chaotic, unstable and prone to violence, but also cute and needs leadership. It is a testimony to the goodness of Superman that he is constantly trying to help crypto. That the steel man goes in great lengths to save a dog that is not his or even respected, speaks of his character. As the hero notes at one point in the movie, "He's alone ... and probably scared."
Of course, crypto is not completely helpless, since it can fly and have super force. However, the way Gun uses Superman's relationship with his dog to show the character of the character is a brilliant move.
Superman now plays in theaters.
