Arnold Schwarzenegger is as legendary as they come to Hollywood. Since his days as a bodybuilder to become a Brag Starwar in the "terminator", his career is fascinating. It was also quite profitable, with many of his films creating large franchises with more sequels. But with the actor now much closer to 80 than he is 70, his career as an action Starwar descends. So which of his films wants him to have more sequels? The answer is both a surprising and also a reminder of a deep missed opportunity.

In a recent interview for ColiderSchwarzenegger promoted the announcement of Netflix's Fubar Season 2. Touching the sequels he didn't make or wished to do, he talked about the long -awaited Sequel "twins", which sounds like it can still happen After they were previously abolished. After that, he turned his attention to the "Conan Barbar" property and the movie "King Conan" that never was. Here's what he had to say about it:

"Sometimes, I wish we could make more sequels to Conan, because I think if you have the right director and the right writing, there can be really a good franchise to continue King Conan and the like."

Third film "Conan" starring Schwarzenegger has been floating for decades. Officially, it returns in at least 2012, at that moment "Conan legend" developed by writer Chris Morgan ("Fast and Furious). After all, that project collapsed after years of stuck in early development. It seems to be regretted for Schwarzenegger all these years later, and it is not difficult to see why.

King Conan remains a huge missed opportunity

As you can recall, "Conan Barvarian" since 1982 (introduced by the Schwarzenegger's roommate on the screen) ended with showing us a picture of the old Conan decades in the future sitting on the throne, teasing "King Conan". When the film got dragged (under a different title) in 2012, it felt perfect. Schwarzenegger was still in great shape and returned to Hollywood after running as Governor of California. The idea of an older, nibbling Schwarzenegger who returned to one of the roles that helped make known all these years later was tantalizing.

"The Legend of Conan" was previously compared to Clint Eastwood's "infogenous". One of the best western ever made. It only served to add intrigue to the project. So what got on the road? Why didn't this really happen? Schwarzenegger raised questions about the Konan rights in 2019. It can often be a thorn on the side of the proposed extension and/or restart, such as this. Unfortunately, with the action hero sitting at the age of 77, the likelihood of this sometimes seems to be weak now. Time can simply pass.

What is frustrating is that Schwarzenegger has a real passion for it. Looking at him returning as a terminator again and again he wore a thin audience for a while, mainly because the creatives behind that franchise fought to come up with attractive reasons why it was supposed to happen. Film in the center of King Conan, on the other hand, absolutely makes sense and there is reason to exist. Of course, the 1984 sequel "Conan Destroyer" was not as desirable as his predecessor, but the notion of walking the heinous à Aa Clint Eastwood Western sounds like a great terrain.

Back in 2020, Netflix is said to be developing a new TV series "Conan Barbaria"But nothing came from that. Who knows? If questions about Conan's rights can be elaborated, Schwarzenegger may still be able to do so. Or maybe the film could be imagined again as an animated film, so Schwarzenegger's physics is no longer a concern. But until that happens, this remains a tragic entrance to the annals of "What if?" History of the cinema.

You can collect the "Conan barbarian" on the 4K Ultra HD from Amazon.
