Jura's world revival has an important connection to the original character of a franchise

This article contains juvenile spoilers for "Renaissance of the World of Jurassic".

When "Rebirth Jurassic World" was first announced in January 2024The news came as a little shock. Separating Universal's ambitious plan to get the film from David Cop's script to cinema for just over a year (a feat that a feat that They have been impressively accomplishedPutting the conventional wisdom of the blockbuster film shammed), the announcement occurred just under two years after the release of the previous entry into the series, 2022 "Jurassic World Dominion". That film was not only the end of the initial trilogy began with the "Jurassic World" in 2015, but pledged to the grand finale for both the films "Jurassic Park" and "Jurassic World", which work in a similar way to "the" Starwells "Episode in 2019: The rise of Skywaler. fans to speculate when and where the film can happen. How The director's chair was filled by Gareth Edwards and actors like Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali began to throw awayIt really looked like the "rebirth" would be carved out of this world, instead of returning any plots or characters from previous films.

However, now that the film is in theaters, it has been revealed that "Re -birth" does not take place in any kind of restarted or alternative continuity. Of course, the film takes place in a new location: a previously unprecedented island by name Ile Saint-Hubert, where Ingen has conducted some experiments to hybridize genetic dinosaur. And no inheritance character makes any kind of look in the movie -not Dr. Ian Malcolm (Effef Goldblum), or Claire Derring (Brice Dallas Howard), and even D -Henry Wu (BD Wong). However, despite moving away from previous films, the film ensures that it is that it is part of the continuity of the series, making it not restarting, but a brand new adventure in the franchise world. To that end, there is a moment when the name of the original franchise character is descended, making a direct link between Rebirth and original films, as well as opening the door for a potential crossover in the future.

Dr -Henry Lomis knows Dr -Alan Grant

In Rebirth Jurassic World Rebirth, a pharmaceutical corporation represented by Martin Crabs (Rupert Friend) collects a team of mercenaries led by Zora Bennett (Johansson) to go to Ile-Saint-Hubert to get some precious bloodstream. Seeing that the expedition will need a dinosaur expert, they seek the services of Dr. Henry Lomis (Athonatan Bailey), the paleontologist, who reveals that the public interest in dinosaurs is humiliated because the creatures are starting to die all over the country. At one point during the team's adventure while stuck at St-Hubert, Lomis reveals that in his younger years he studied under Dr. Alan Grant, played in "Jura Park", "Park Jurass III" and "Jura World Dominance" by Sam Neil.

Apart from the existence of Ingen and a world full of dinosaurs trying to coherate with people, this mention of grant, small, though may be, is the biggest direct relationship that "re -birth" makes to other Jurassic films. It is a clever choice by Coep, as this little backstew immediately imposes the audience even more, giving us an indication that when it comes to studying the dinos, this man is trusted. Also gives an implicit reference to "Park Jura III", Specifically the character of Billy Brennan (Alessandro Level). In that film, Brennan was a student and friend of Grant, and his belief in paleontology went so far as to tried to kidnap an egg from a Velocarator in order to hope to sell it for funding. Billy eventually learned the mistake of his ways, and his story seems to echo a little about how Lomis tries to rob the Pterosaur nest, a quetalco -sat, in order to extract some of the DNA of the egg. Needless to say, the actions of Lomis, no matter how well intended, attract Mrs. Ketzal's Mrs. Those paleontologists are always put into trouble!

Can Grant's mention means returning hereditary characters to a future movie?

To be clear, the name of Alan Grant's name in Rebirth works only on the ways of detail above, and is absolutely not there as some kind of teasing for future film or appearance. The question of whether something with grant and other heritage characters in the Jurassic franchise can happen along the road, though, especially since "Re -birth" is, refreshing, one -stroke film; It is happy to be an independent "Jurassic" adventure in the tradition of "Jurassic Park III" or even "Jurassic World". In this way, part of the "rebirth" of the title feels a little wrong, because although it is obvious that there is a meta connotation to restart the series after his assumed "Dominion" finals, it really does not explain what the future of the franchise may have if anything.

There are several characters that survive the events of "Renaissance", so it is possible that one or many of them make a return look in the future film "Jura", but there are no hanging plots or settings that make a return to feel necessary. On the other hand, the last time we saw Dr -Grant, he would return his romance with D -Eli Satler (Laura Dern) and the couple had to testify before the congress of the Biosin Corporation. Maybe Dr -Grant wants to deal with D -Lomis, his old student, in a way similar to how Grant visited Eli in Jura Park III? " Or, paleontologists will find themselves with a new adventure, maybe with some new faces that join them? As we understand from the theory of D -Malcolm's chaos, whatever it can happen, it can probably happen, so all we have to do is wait and see.

"Rebirth Jurassic World Rebirth" is now in cinemas.
