Like the most recognizable movie stars, it took many years for Charlize Theron to become an overnight sensation. Verkhoven remembered that Teron turned to Nomi while talking to New York Daily News. "Charlize was also audited," he explained, "I don't remember having no problem with nudity. At the time, Theron probably felt deleted because he did not land the lead in "Showgirls". That would certainly be her big breakthrough in the movies, especially since she was only 19 years old when she happened. In contrast, Berkeley was 23.
