Stanley Kubrick is celebrated as one of the most visually dynamic directors in the history of the medium, with his work demonstrating willingness to play in every kind of genre playground. While some of his previous films were spoiled with horrible themes, "Glitter" was his first flat horror movie. Horror Maestro Steven King notorious shared some not so kind words over the past few decades over the wildly wildly Kubrick's Different Adjustment of his 1977 novel. The "glitter" may not be a 1-1 recreation of the original material, but it is one of the best examples of what the adaptation can be.

King's story of an alcoholic recovering with his demons along with his family in a haunted hotel, located deep in Colorado Rockis, dealt with a very significantly bent in Kubrick's hands. In the 1980 film, Jackec Torrens (Jackack Nicholson) is excluded from the start. The horror originated, not from a complex individual standstill in her impulses, but by the mother (Shelley Duval in a remarkable performance) and her gifted son (Dani Lloyd) essentially held him hostage by their serial abuser, while capturing in a frigid environment that encourages all of his worst.
