In the summer of 2021, Netflix releases ambitious trilogy "Fear Street" with charming results. Based (loosely) on the YA Horror series from "Goosebumps" Maestro RL Stine, the three films were weaker pastors who liked those of us who grew up in the haunting of the "Friday" video store for "Friday" and the original "Vres". Under the direction of director Li Janiak, who also co-wrote the films, the three films "Fear Street"-"Fear Street: 1994," Fear Street: 1978 "and" Fear Street: 1666 "sprayed widespread, detailed mythology set up in the fictional, cursed city.

The three films were smart, fun and gave us a winning team of loved ones. More than that, they left room for more. For the foundations they were laid for Netflix to return to Jadysid for additional stories about Ya Terror. And yet, streaming service needs to be unusually for a long time to return to "Fear Street". Unfortunately, now that we are once again in the chad, the results are completely disappointing. None of the inventive energy shown in the previous three films is visible in "Fear Street: Prom Queen", a frivolous accident that relies even when sheds a huge amount of blood.

"Fear of the Street: Prom Queen" semi-heart mentions some events from the previous trilogy (especially the summer slaughter camp seen in "Fear Street: 1978"), but then continues to tell her independent story, ignoring Sarah Fier's curse that was so essential to the trilogy. And that's good. However, the "prom queen" has so far been removed from what happened before, begins to feel like a continuation only in the name. Of course, there is a lot of precedent for this, especially in the horror genre (just look at it an extremely strange franchise "Hellraiser"). But I had a lot of fun with the original trilogy, and so little fun here that I can't help, but think something went wrong.

Maybe things would be better worked if I was returned. Instead, Matt Palmer defeated this record (Palmer also co-wrote the script, with Donald McLeri), and the flat, fairly inexpensive look of the film does not. This movie is not just bad, that appearance Bad, as the production there was only a budget to shoot in a fixed place. This is such a sharp contrast to the previous three films that felt uniquely great.

In "Prom Queen", it is 1988, and high school students are preparing for prom. We find out that there are more candidates looking for a coveted prom. Naved shoes is a rich middle -aged girl Tiffany Falconer (FINA broad), which has a target click on medium -sized girls Also Hoping to be a queen.

Then there is Wildcard, Lori Granger (India Fowler). Lori has been slightly omitted to Jadyside, mostly due to the fact that city gossip has long accused Lori's mother of killing her father (and moving away from the crime). Lori inexplicably thinks that if she wins the crown of the graduation queen, all her social and financial problems will be resolved, which I suppose is the type of confused logic that works when you are a teenager stuck in a cursed, deadlock.

While Fowler is fine with what he gave here, Lori is unfortunately a shameless, uninteresting final girl. It's just not much about the character, except for the fact that she is the best friend of the horror-lubo Megan (son Susana), who wants to make bloody props and spends all her free time reading "Fangoria". More or less it is understood that Megan has a huge crush on Lori, but the film doesn't really look interested in exploring it. In addition, Lori has his own crush, Tyler (David Jacon), who simply seems to be Tiffany's boy - though it is quite clear that this high school couple is not wanting each other.

"Prom Queen" is in a hurry through her fast -paced, falling on the prom. Almost when a masked killer begins to cut off the horny teenagers one by one, working his (or her?), Although candidates for the prom queen and their boys with recognition for heinous results. If the "graduation queen" has one thing that happens about it, it is not ashamed of bloody murder, and most of them seem to be accomplished with the practical effects of makeup than without weightless digital digital. But after a while, even it begins to lose its charm.

Not helping things are a serious poor script that fails to introduce something of the substance. "Queen of prom" is not even funny Nor Terrible, and certainly seems to be at least trying to try to be one of those things if not both. At one point, bitter enemies Lori and Tiffany engage in dancing in the center of the graduation, shot for a moment and performed so badly that I am not sure what the ultimate goal is. Who thought this was a good idea?

As a big fan of the original trilogyI was constantly waiting (and hoping) for "Fear Street: Prom Queen" to conquer me. However, the film remains iousbopitous lifeless, and not even the presence of reliable, talented people like Lily Taylor and Catherine Watstrason (sporting properly huge hair of the 80's) cannot save such a disappointing affair. After the initial trilogy "Fear Street", it was a shebed to go back to Jadysid. It's not worth the wait.
