Poor, poor Harry Kim (Garrett Wang). Several seasons on the escape of Star Trek: Voyager, fans began to notice that Harry Kim, despite being capable, obedient, creative and intelligent, never received promotion. In Star Trek, Starflit officers - if they are good at their jobs - usually rise through the ranks of the expected clip, usually moving from Ensign to Lieutenant Colonel for a year or two. Harry Kim has remained for all seven seasons of Voyager, which looks like severe injustice. Late in the series, Kim had an exchange with Captain Ewenevey (Kate Mulgru) in which they both embarrassed admitted that Eweneve was looking for a certain amount of command consistency between her team, forcing her to keep her officers with a lower ranking of their positions. It wasn't fair in design.

Kim's eternal insection status was joked openly in the episode "Star Trek: Lower decks" "Quest for Crack" (December 12, 2024), a parallel episode of the universe in which dozens of interdimensional Harry Kim (all played by Wang) gathered. Only one of them was no longer Ensign. Others looked all in fear. Like most of the "Dolni decks" jokes, the Brigade of All-Insect-Kim was based on years on fan-proliferated scootlebut. To achieve a certain amount of cosmic justice and the action of a small amount of madness, Lieutenant Kim has overtaken a stars star with dimensions and a reinforced pattern to escape a new reality.
However, Harry Kim - and Garrett Wang seem to be included in a mysterious Star Trek project before that episode "Dolni decks". Unfortunately, because of the demands of corporate secrecy, only Wang knows what the project is. He at least alluded to it in Interview of 2024 with Cinemablend.

What was the mysterious "Old Trek" project, Garrett Wang, on?
Wang talked a little bit about the observed, fan-hearted injustice that Kim had to endure him, something he probably talked about at Star Trek conventions in the 24th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager. He seems to have not been forgotten by the current congratulations to the Starwar Trek, though, as he really approached the Starwar in another travel project at some point. What was that? Wang could only say this:

"That say something happened, but then something else happened outside of my control. I had no control over it. And that offer was lifted in some way. That's all I can say."
Clearly as mud. Wang could allude to any number of canceled projects "Star Trek" coming and disappearing over the years. There was once a plan for Nicholas Meyer, the director of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" and "Star Trek VI: The insincere country", To make a trilogy of films for CBS All Access (now Paramount+), but that project has fallen apart. There were several attempts to give Warf (Michael Dorn) from "Star Trek: Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" his own series, But they all also failed.

It was discovered that Wang may have had Kimo on "Star Trek: Picard", So he could very well allude to it. In the cut from Picard, Kim would finally be seen as a captain. His duty, finally.
Regardless of the project, however, Wang was thought. Harry Kim will always be a member of the Trek family, regardless of his rank.
