Based on Lian Moriarti's hit with the same name, "Big Little Lies" focuses on a group of wealthy but troubled women in Monterrey, California (marking the departure of the original material, which is set in a rich Australian coastal enclave). Reese Whitrspoon, with strong will, Madeleine McKenzie is one of the central characters of the show, but it becomes clear that her household will not run without her husband Ed, played by Adam Scott. Ed is Madeleine's second husband, and she shares a daughter, Abigail (Catherine Tonutn), with her ex -husband Nathan (Jameseims Tupper).
