"DoomStrike" is a continuation of Lanzing and Kelly's previous series of Thunderbaltes, "Worldstrike". In that series, Baki led Thunderbolt at a worldwide event to finally kill the red skull. Doom helped, but in "One World under the accident", he used to kill the red skull to look like a hero.
He is not happy to be playing for a fool, Baki Thunderbolt has become an uprising against Shuska. From "Doomstrike" #4, it doesn't go too great.

Songbird, once known as screaming Mimi, was part of the Original Thunder. The team was actually a super-trainer, masked by new costumes and codes, pretending to be heroes. Their leader? "Citizen V", in the truth Baron Helmut Zemo. But Mimi's screaming decided he preferred to be a hero, so Songbird became a real self.
In "Thunderbolts: DoomStrike", DOOM has returned these original lightning together to fight the new ones. However, it is now dead, so who is a citizen V? Valentina Allegra De Fontein, played by Jululia Louis-Dreyfus in "Thunderbaltes*".

The problem opens by sitting in front of Natasha in front of a computer, as the News propaganda telling Baki's capture fills the air. Natasha seems to realize where Baki is and, now, the black widow can be his only chance of escape.
