Steven King has only occasionally written film or television adaptations of its own stories, including the 1989 movie "Five Semari", the 1994 Stand -2016 Minisions and the 2016 film "Cellelia" (which is a movie with the lowest rating of the king of rotten tomatoes). "Lisy's story" is so personal to King because, in many ways, it's his story. During the almost fatal hospitalization of pneumonia in 2003, King Tabita's wife deeply used her office. When he returned home, he was shocked by a shell to see his creative shelter and the personal warehouse was completely renovated. He felt like a vision of the future where he did not survive. This, in turn, inspired him to write about the inheritance of the authors and the narratives we construct after our loved ones pass.

King probably wanted to avoid what happened to his other personal job, "Glitter", as Stanley Kubrick, hated the film's adaptation. He felt that Jackec Nicholson not only made the wicked transformation of Jackack Torrence, but also the "evil" itself too purely. There was no nuance and there was no emotional bow for a man struggling with alcoholism in the film - something King handled his life.
