Another entertaining detail of Al TV was Jankovic's false interviews. He would have found a B-roll of renowned musicians who gave interviews and diminished in the interview, asking absurd questions. Jankovic liked the interviews so much that he later played during the concerts.

To date there have been 10 specialists "Al TV". There were two in 1984, followed by additional episodes in '85, '87, '88, '92, '96, '99, '03 and '06. They all coincided with Jankovic who was releasing a new album, giving him a chance to debut his own videos and excite all the trips he was supposed to continue. However, until the 1990s, the MTV format was codified, the music trends changed, and "al -TV", while sharper and funny than ever, had no "pioneer" effect as in 1984 and 1985. Until the 1990s, "Al TV" was foreseen an event (Unlike his 1989 film "UHF", which relying terribly).

But for magic, it seemed that "al -TV" fulfilled a praise. Jankovic was an important part of those early MTV, showing that music videos are okay to be satirized and that comedy is an essential part of the music landscape. Indeed, Al -Humor of Al was vital to determine that MTV is a force for itself, determining that deconstruction is the blood of the network. MTV may have killed the Starvers Radio, but "Strange Al" gave them an arsenal of weapons to do so.

As for this writing, Jankovic has more or less retired than cutting new albums. His last record, "Mandatory Fun", was released in 2014, and he has since recorded only a few singles. Also, MTV's condition has changed dramatically in the 2000s, focusing less on music and more on real shows.
