For more than a decade, the CW arrowverse was a pillar of storytelling for superhero. While DC's expanded universe fought on the big screen in the 2010s, shows like Arow and Flash advanced to television. So much, in fact, that spin-off began to happen. "Superger", for example, was taken by CBS, while Superman and Lois will eventually become something Also. But not all planned plays made him broadcast. Such was the case with the "Green Arrow and the Canars", which was broadcast as a pilot at the rear of 2020.

CW tested this concept in the "Arrow" season 8. Life. The duo, you see, follow a victim of kidnapping, which has links to MIA, so they all fit to save the city.
Unfortunately, CW decided not to move forward with spin-off. Hence, when Arow ended after eight seasons in January 2020This specific angle of the arrow ended with it. So what happened exactly? Why did the network decide not to press forward with the show?

For one thing, the main series that the universe anchored was out, with Flash Season 9 brought that show in a few years later. Superger will soon follow the suit, and with the "black lightning", also calling it to withdraw in 2021, writing seemed to be more or less on the Wallid for Arrowverse. However, they were events in the real world that eventually killed this series for the DC team team.
Pandemic killed green arrow and canaries of CW
In January 2021, it was discovered that CW did not collect "green arrows and canaries" in series. This announcement came almost a year after the network was broadcast by the pilot on the back of the show. However, as the writer/producer Mark Guggenheim explained Twitter (now x) At that time, the decision was actually made much earlier, and it all had to do with Kovid-19 pandemic:

"In fact, the decision was made during the beginning of the pandemic (which, I believe, was a decisive factor). The real statement was made today."
The pandemic boosted so much production in Hollywood, with several films and TV shows being canceled as a direct result. Much of it was due to higher production costs and uncertainty about the future of business. CW was particularly difficult, with the network sold to Nexstar in 2022. At that moment, the arrow really started to die, with the new network owners focusing on cheaper, largely unwritten programming instead.
So, even if he went ahead, "Green Arrow and Canary" would probably not last too long. In an interview in 2022 with ComicBookMovie.comCassidi explained why there is no regrets about the show's cancellation:

"I say this to the most prestigious, kind, real way ... We really, really milked that cow. Like, c'mon. You grow up, grow, you ... I want to learn and I want to act, but I started with features and entering them (I have never been in this time.
"It's not that I wouldn't want the show to go (forward) because I wanted to work with everyone, but let's do something different!" Added cashids. "Let's shake a few *** up! (Laughs). We know about superheroes. We've been there. What's next?"
