To set the record directly, "North" had no lack of talented people among her acting roles and crew. Elijah Wood Starswells as a titular north, with Bruce Willis tells this story of Zani and playing more roles in Zani during the film. The rest of the cast includes big names like Iaulia Louis-Dreyfus, Jonon Lovitz, Jason Alexander and Katie Bates. This was Wood's Pre-Frodo Baggins eraOf course, but he was fresh from the "Good Son" and "The Adventures of Jacques Finn", two films showing his incredible skill and range as a then actor. Villis, on the other hand, was already sincere Action Superstwar post "Die Hard", doing this from the many non-active titles that unfortunately did not work for him.

"North" opens with the name of the name, to be overlooked by his ultra-wealthy parents (Alexander and Louis-Dreyfus), despite trying to try to be an obedient child and comprehensive at school. Sitting sitting and rejecting a shop for one day, he complains to his parents of a man in a pink suit for Easter Bunny (Willis), who calls on him to talk to them. But the north rejects this council, deciding instead to seek new parents who are worthy of his eyes. For a short moment, you might think that Willis serves the reality "Donny Darko" here (though in a comical setting). Unfortunately, this is immediately underestimated by everything that happens after this.

On paper, this premise is just as harmless as it becomes: the child rejects his parents for their negligible behavior and travels the world to find new ones, just to realize that they care in their own way. Even satirically bent at this premise would work, but Rainer unfortunately relies on crunching, frivolous humor of power through these scenarios. Case in point: Willis aims to cause comfort to the north while serving as his guardian angel during his adventures. Except, every time the actor appears in another form - be the man in a bunny, tourist or fedex driver - it adds nothing to these seemingly hearty scenes that we need to laugh together. (We don't.)

Neither Wood nor Willis are to blame here. Instead, the elements that make up the "north", including its middle spiritual comedy and sentimentality they feel, feel inadequate at every turn. A complete director's effort by Rainer, a director who, until that point in his career, was also created. The true brilliant adaptation of Steven King "Misery". I suspect that "north" will always be remembered as an anomalous flop that defies every positive expectation attached to it.
