The next contains heavy spoilers For Season 1 of "Paradise".
The exciting new series Julu "Paradise" set the bar as the best new TV show of 2025. Best twists in TV -Show for years.
The creator "This is us", Dan Fogelman, gives an attractive story in the midst of a mystery that develops into something bigger. The show is followed by Sterling K. Brown, Xavier Collins, a former agent of the Secret Service, who fails at his job and allows President Calford (Jameseims Marsden) to be killed. The rest of the season involves Xavier's investigation into who killed the presidentWhile the bigger narrative of the show also explores exactly what happened that ended the world. Yes, finish.
As we know in the first episode, the city of Xavier and the president lived is actually a massive secret underground bunker created after a world disaster. But what exactly happened to end civilization as we know? It is one of the biggest mysteries of Paradise Season 1, a puzzle that is very clearly explained in the TV show, leaving zero doubt about what or how it happened. If somehow you still don't know what happened, or you just don't see the show, but you are hugging to pretend you know what the show is so as not to miss the conversation, here's a "Paradise" guide.
How did the world end in paradise
In episode 7, titled "The Day", we go back to, well, the day - at the end of the world. It began with an oversight Antarctic eruption, which caused a tsunami 300 meters high. Although nations were fully aware, this environmental disaster will happen, they are all shocked that the eruption does not follow their predictions and happen sooner than expected.
During the episode, we see frightening footage of news from the whole coastline, and even whole countries are now under water. It's an episode that doesn't feel the need to show the disaster (out of a short, dark shot) but still feels As epic and exciting as Roland Emerich's film. However, under the excitement lies an attractive story of a man desperately trying to gather with his wife, a story of an employee who has seen a disaster, comes and goes and refuses to believe this is, and many other little stories that convey the idea that this is what is most lost - people.
The destruction of most arable land encourages nations around the world to do what they do best - make stupid decisions. The war begins, as the hungry nations predict a future resource battle and begin to consider and secure their future (by launching nuclear ways that end with that future).
While heading to a special bunker made for politicians and technology oligarchs, President Bradford makes his latest surface decisions and chooses not to launch the nuclear, but rather to cause the electromagnetic pulse that disables world electronics.
How bad is the surface now?
You wonder about the surface raises many other questions. We do not know how many nuclear plants have yet reached the United States before electronics come out, but we know that there are some areas less apocalyptic than others. Most importantly, we know there are survivors there, including whole neighborhoods in Atlanta, where Collins Terry's wife (Enuka Okuma) is probably alive and good.
However, this does not mean that the earth is still intact, because there was damage to the tsunami that definitely destroyed much of the country. We have seen a look at what lies above the Bunker Wallsids, and it seems that many buildings are still around. The big city does not look completely desolate.
What happens when people in paradise and people in the outside world reveal the existence of each other? Will the outsiders try to force the road into the bunker, or will it try to leave Townsfolk? "Paradise" should explore the state of the outside world and fortunately there will be time for it When the show returns for season 2.
