Clowns are terrible. Although they are largely related to children's entertainment, people have a deep rooted fear of these painted performers, so naturally, several horror films have used it over the years. In recent years, "Worse" weak art clown has become a horror icon with direct direct. All this to say, the terrible sub-genre of the clown is lasting. And now the "Corn Clown" is immediately making a case that is one of the best frightening clown films ever.

I was lucky enough to catch the world premiere of this SXSW in Austin, Texas. Directed by Eli Craig, Known best as the man behind Tucker and Dale vs. Evi, " This adaptation of Adam Cesare's popular novel by the same name is nothing shy about the thrill of horror/comedy. It's funny, it's happy, it is well done and occupies a unique space in the sub-genre of the frightening clown. Do everything you have to do and does it very well. Perhaps the most important of all, it gives us a new potential clown killer icon in the form of friendship. No more can be asked.

The film focuses on Quinn (Katie Douglas), which is forced to move to the quiet city of Kettle Springs with her father (Aaron Abrams), hoping to get a new beginning. The community has fallen into difficult times after the corner of the corn Bypen syrup, which led to tension among young locals and elders in the city. As tensions begin to boil, a wicked figure appears from corn tests to clear the city of its loads. Welcome to the party, friend.

Let me be clear: "Clown in corn" does not pull the blows and when the blood is poured, it really pours. As it was said, Craig offers more to take over the frightening clown genre, which feels really refreshing and unlike what we have seen in the past. The films "Fear", popular, though they have become wild gurfesti, which for many people are more endurance test. This film represents the other side of the coin, directly good time filled with creative killings and original laughter. It feels closer in tone to Netflix's Fear Street trilogyBringing that blood soaked energy for a younger generation.

IFC Films teamed up with the horror streaming service shaking the adaptation of Craig's novel. Suder has earned a very reputation in the horror community, and this film is a great idea why. They are here in partnership with the right people and make movies that deserve to be made. "In a violent nature", "busy", and recent records in the "V/H/s" series serve as just a few examples. Stay confident, this is another shiny example of what Shudder carries in the genre.

I'm not necessarily here to rank frightening clown films throughout history. What i can say is that "IT" for 2017, based on Steven King's classic, is the biggest horror film ever. It will probably be at the top of many lists. "Terifier 2" was an unexpected sequel to Britteg, which became a real favorite. There are also cult classics like "Killer Klowns from the outside". All worthy inclusions of such a list. What I am here to argue is that the "clown in corn" more than that earns its place on the table. It should be on the list from here onwards.
