It's been almost seven years, but director Paul Feig has returned with his first sequel in the form of "other simple benefits". This is the tracking of The decent, complex mystery thriller of the director "Simple Benefits", which was published in 2018. The title of Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, it was a big hit in her time. Now, people in Amazon have used the dough to return the sequel gang, which will premiere directly at the premiere video.
Hague, best known as the director of comedies such as "Bridesmaids" and "Spy", had some reservations to make a sequel to what is probably his most serious film to date. He explained to the world premiere of "Another simple benefit" of this year's SXSW in Austin, Texas that he was concerned about living to the original. According to his mind, it was a reasonable fear, because most extensions tend to be not excellent:
"" Simple Benefits "is such a special movie for me. I don't normally do extensions because I'm terrified of them. Since most sequels are not great, and it was really scary. But we just a kind of thought, I just love these characters so much. Anna and Blake are so amazing.
For what is worth, the reactions of the sequel beyond the premiere were greatly positive. I was lucky enough to see that and, for my money, "another simple benefit" is a moreixic and craziest than his predecessor (You can check my full review for /movie here).
Paul Feig knows that most sequels are not as good as the original
While the audience is yet to weigh, at least in the early walk, it seems that Hamg has managed to split his worst fears of making. Feig came out of his Comedy "Jackpot", which was not a hit with criticswhich probably makes early reception for "another simple benefit" increasingly sweet. Speaking further before the screening, Feig explained that he could not shake the feeling that he had more to do with these characters, which made him break this new story.
"I just felt like there was something more to do with these characters, but you don't want to repeat the first movie. So what we're doing? Well, let's take them to Italy. So, that's what will happen in this movie. I think you'll have a great time, we had a lot of fun."
Feig has made several hits in the past, including "bridesmaids", yet he is never eagerly waiting for a sequel for fear of living up to what came before. Is his experience for this film more likely to extend his previous work? Who knows, but at the very least, he surpassed that fear allowed this film to exist.
The sequel is also starring Henry Golding, Andrew Rannels, Bashir Salahudin, Alex Elluell, Apara Nanchella, Kelly McCormack, Michele Moron, Elizabeth Perkins and Allison Annnani.
