The Jameses Gun is known for directed by ensemble pieces in the field of comics films, after rushing the "Gardaxi of the Galaxy" and "Suicide Suicide" trilogy in 2021. So, since he is taking this summer Superman for Warner Bros., it is reasonable to wonder if Gun will take a similar approach to "man of steel". Whether you hoped for a hero -filled story or worried that the focus would get out of the Super, however, Gun made it clear: his last is not a team adventure.
/Bill Bria recently attended a special stamp event Gun and Peter Safran, which serve as co-heads of DC Studios in Bros. Warner. It also means that they are tasked with launching the new DC Universe, a franchise that technically began with the release of Max's animated series "Creature Commandos", but will start seriously with Superman in July. Gun has addressed the "Superman" question of the event, which is crystal clear that the focus will be on Clark Kent of David Coranet:
"I don't think of Superman how it's not an ensemble. It's about three characters. That's Superman, Lois (Lane) and Lex (LATHOR). These are the three characters in question. All others serve that story. Although Eddie Gategi is the character is pretty big, these are the three.
The The first Trailer for Superman includes several justice league memberssuch as Guy Gardner's green lantern (Nathan Fillion) and Hokgiegl (Isabella Merced). There are other main characters of DC, such as Eddie Gateghi's Mr. Gateghi, for whom Gun has alluded to, not to mention the engineer (Maria Gabriela de Shara), who can help build the bridge to the upcoming film "The Authority" DC. However, Gun went so far as to say that "every frame in the film is for Superman's story."
Superman of Jameseims Gun is not the guardian of the galaxy
When Gun and Safran took the heads of DC Studios, they set up a plan to create a cohesive, connected universe stretching through movies, TV, and even video games in the future, With the first chapter of the new CCU called "gods and monsters". That means they will need to help set up future projects in films such as Superman. Even so, Gun noted that his film is not like "Guardians of the Galaxy" and is more than an individual story:
"It's about his personal journey. It is not "guardians of the galaxy". Each character has its own bow as it would have in any story, but it's really for Superman. "
As for the future of the DC universe? "We go somewhere," Safran teases. "There is a plan for films with more characters there," Gun added. Again, it may include The movie "Authority" published by Gun a few years ago. It may include a possible movie "Justice League", although no such thing has been published for this writing. Safran, touching on the future, explained how this process of building works will work functionally:
"We know where we headed for a bigger story, and so the Jameseims ensures that those building blocks will be established. And then around that, there is a huge amount of geographical width in terms of what we do. "
Basically, Gun and Safran do not want to be painted in a corner, which is smart. If they can hit some very basic strokes, a bigger story they want to tell can still be collected while allowing movies like Superman to stand on their own two legs.
Superman reaches theaters on July 11, 2025.
