Dani and Michael Filipo are back! The Australian duo responsible for the great supernatural horror film "Talk with me" is ready to release a new horror film in the world with "Go Back". The film is surrounded by mystery, with official synopsis only teasing ritual and hidden home. And yet, even without much (or any) details of what the movie really is, the first "Go Back" is doing a great job to build anticipation and fear.
The trailer starts innocent enough, with a cat shot stunned by knocking somewhere in the house. However, from there, the hanger is developing in a procession of short and seemingly random footage that alludes to one's death, funeral, autopsy, bloody pictures and Hawkins Sali screaming to bring her back, all before the visual of a naked man approaches a woman in a circle (sorting of reference). The pictures come to you quickly, accompanied by a disturbing repetition of the sound of knocking and the eerie result. It's the best kind of teaser - the one that tells you almost nothing about the movie, but still enough to make you want to know what the hell is happening.
In Era where marketing campaigns spoil the best part of the films in their trailers (Looking at you, "Captain America: a brave new world"), the "Return" trailer is fully artificial in execution. The thing is, however, that we should not be surprised. No matter how much he is gearing up to generate a new film by "Talking to Me" directors, it is also a great exhibition for the A24 Marketing Department. Indeed, it seems that nothing can sell a horror movie these days, as well as the A24 trailer.
A24 mastered the trailer of the art of horror
There is a joke that the trailers A24 are the same, and there is no denial that they have a specific house style. The distributor works with the same trailer cutting companies for his films and has experienced a unique style-that is employed in marketing for every horror film A24 has been released since the 2015 "Witch".
These horror movies trailers are recognizable in that they include a repetition of nasty sound ("Back Back" sound, the character "Echo A character" shouts in "Men", clicking in "Hereditary), unresolved grade The slowly crescent and fast -paced footage that is largely deprived of context, but still build a eerie atmosphere. To promote, but still avoid discovering what is happening in any particular scene. Footage from the concert at the beginning of the film, but otherwise it is about building tension through footage of characters trapped in a room, Patrick Stewart shouting from the outside, and pictures of men arming.
The A24 is really great at selling its horror movies, maybe too well. Of course, there is a disadvantage. A24 Access often tricks ordinary movie Who don't care about distributors think they get a more typical horror movie, just to end up disappointed when they get a slower indie film with a greater focus on the atmosphere than the jump scared. It resulted in More than a few box office failures for A24 along the way.
'LLE reveal how scary he is "back" when the film reaches theaters on 30.05.2025.
