If Sarah Michel Gellar returns to the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" You were on your bingo card in 2025, congratulations, you are the foot of the rest of us. Things are not very placed in stone, but that never prevent anyone from speculating on details. And when it comes to the direct heir of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", there is a special detail that will need to be resolved (or, possibly, totally ignored) early.

Dedicated fans of the Supernatural Action/Drama/Comedy series on the late 90's will know that there were many more "Buffy" stories, narrated after the series ended at the end of season 7. And no, I'm not talking about last season's Angel, that stretched beside the Buffy final and returned Spike (Jamesiems Marels) back. I'm talking about "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Sequel Comics written by the creator of the Osos Vedon series and others between 2007 and 2018. "Season 8" has been shown through "Season 12",

Only Vedon's involvement can be enough to avoid readers, given numerous claims of workplace toxicity, sexual behavior and overall abuse of power that have come out in recent years. But that is not the only reason to avoid these comics completely. Vedon himself was barely included in most of the extra "seasons", choosing to hit and out after the widespread involvement in "Season 8." The rest was written by comics writers like Christ Gage and Corina Bechko, but the new series of sequels will Do the best by completely ignoring these stories that follow.

Setting up for "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 8" sees Bufi and other killers of Season 7, along with longtime members of the Scubi gang like Xander and Wilow, formed in a global organization for the fight against the monster. Different chapters cover the planet, with the primary seat of Bufi based in the Castle in Scotland. It is a great expansion in volume compared to the TV series, but it is also the one that makes sense given the new medium. This global, well -funded organization can be a shield, and the main characters are basically the avengers.

It is not a bad concept on the face, and things start interesting enough with some stylish art and a new mysterious villain. But the stories quickly deal with stunning, disturbing and pure bad. In the interest of you, I will run some of the most confusing narrative elections below. Look now if you don't want to be spoiled.

Among other things, an angel seduces/possesses/deceives from the spirit of an alternative dimension, kills Gilles and learns to levitize. Bufi goes to the future and kills Willow. Xander and Zora join romantic - a move that is Extra Gross given the age gap, the fact that Vedon said Xander is the character he behaves most, and the latest discovery that there was a rule for a set that Vedon could not be alone with Michelle Trahtenberg.

And that's all in the first "season". While later installments have a sincere material (perhaps because Vedon is not so included), they all work out of this foundation, and things get off the rails so fast that it is difficult to recommend someone holding it out.

Hopefully, that short list of unstoppable nonsense gives you an idea why the new series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Sequel should completely ignore the comics. While the TV show certainly accepted some scientific and fantastic comic book stories from time to time (Vedon has long been a medium fan), those letters have never been what the show did great. Strong writing characters, great chemistry within the basic ensemble, stupid charm and very cordial emotional moments - it's Why do most fans love Buffy, I mean, and that's of course why I'm doing. The time when the show becomes too caught up in storytelling with high concept-season 4 and 7 rebounds-they are just when it's the weakest.

Of course, the bigger reason why the new show should (and certainly) completely ignore the comics is that a small percentage of people who love "Bufi" have ever read. The show remains enormously popular and there is no reason to arbitrarily keep most of the fans for a bunch of asine stories they have never heard of. Will the new Buffy series be good? That has yet to be proven. Jack, we don't even know for sure if it's still going on. But it is certainly an exciting perspective as long as the creatives behind the scenes focus on what the original has always done strong.

If we remove the comics from the image, there is a lot of potential for new stories in the Series Buffy sequel. At the end of the show, Bufi leads a whole team of killers with her friends. You can do a lot of setting up without going full -fledged "Vampire Specifications in Castle". It remains to be seen whether the events of the "Angel" season 5 will be factorized, but given that Most of the "angel" cuts back and forth with "Buff", It would be difficult (and meaningless) to excise spin-off. This returns the classic romantic question of Spike/Angel on the table (that's Spike, we all know that the real answer is Spike).

Given the amount of time that has passed, of course, the new show will jump decades ago, putting a questionnaire for some return actors. For example, David Borenaz and Jamesiyes Marters are much older, but their vampire characters should not age.
