But the prospects have deteriorated as weeks went by, and the chances of Den of Thieves 3 are less reliable than a minute.

By the time of writing, Lionsgate's sequel earned $ 31.8 million at home and 8.6 million abroad for a total of $ 40.4 million worldwide. Director Christian Goodgast's film brings a $ 40 million budget, which does not take into account marketing. Since theaters keep approximately half of the money earned from ticket sales, this one still has a lot to pass before profitability. Unfortunately, it quickly disappears.

In the third weekend, Panatera dropped by almost 55%, earning only $ 3 million. Lionsgate is recovering from its worst year of box office in 2024. The studio is just one part of the equation here and they tend to be isolated from risk by bringing financial partners, usually selling rights abroad to help cover costs. As for their investment, Lionsgate may be pleased with what is happening at home. But other companies such as G-Base and Diamond Film Productions are included. Can the puzzle be collected in the end to make a third film makes sense? That's the big question.

For what is worth, the cashier is just one component here. The original "Den of Thieves" recently found himself at the top of the Max chartsthat suggests that there has been a healthy streaming life in the last seven years.
