King Charles III is celebrating her Scottish roots in a new film released by Buckingham Palace on Saturday, January 24
The 76-year-old monarch is seen wearing a kilt made from King Charles III tartan in a picture taken at the library. Balmoral CastleThe Royal Family's holiday home in Scotland.
It was demolished last fall, according to a press release issued by the palace our weekly. The photo was later shared on the palace's Instagram account.

Photo, taken by Millie Pilkington, Released on Burns Night, an annual celebration honoring Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns. (Burns is best known for the song "Auld Lang Syne", which is often performed on New Year's Eve around the world.)
This isn't the first time Charles has rocked a kilt. She wore traditional Scottish clothing to several royal engagements in Scotland over the years.
Scotland has a strong connection with the royal family. Every summer, senior members of the royal family travel to the nation's capital city of Edinburgh for Royal Week, also known as Holyrood Week. While there, they usually stay at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the family's official residence in Edinburgh.
The late Queen Elizabeth II spent her final days at Balmoral Castle, where she Died at age 96 on September 8, 2022. Her coffin was later taken to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and placed in the throne room before being taken to London for Elizabeth II's funeral on 19 September.
In September 2022, King quoted Barnes when speaking in the Scottish Parliament about his mother's death.
"My mother felt, as I did, the greatest admiration for the Scottish people, for their great achievements and their indomitable spirit," Charles said at the time.

King continued: “If I may paraphrase the words of the great Robert Burns, my dear mother was: 'Friend of man, friend of truth; Friend of age and guide of youth: Few hearts like his, warm in virtue, Few heads so informed with wisdom.'
