The President's order acknowledged that there should be "no national security concerns" for the release of the documents. Each outlet must submit a plan to release JFK-related assassination documents within 15 days. Meanwhile, MLK Jr. and those related to the RFK must be submitted within 45 days.

"Everything will be revealed," the president told reporters in the Oval office, per Fox News.

Late Thursday, January 23, Dr. King's family shared a statement of reaction to Trump's executive order Xformerly known as Twitter.

"Today, our family mourns President Trump's assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, President Robert F. Kennedy, and our father, Dr. Martin Luther King. For us, our Father's assassination is a very personal family loss that we have endured for the past 56 years. We hope allowing you to review files as a family," the statement reads.
