Oprah Winfrey shared a surprising discovery she made thanks to her experience with Ozempica.
The legendary talk show host revealed that taking Ozempic made her realize the startling truth about "skinny people", as she used to associate their weight with their strong "willpower", but was forced to reconsider when she started taking the miracle drug for weight loss.

Winfrey seems to have been forced to change her attitude about "skinny people" and how they maintain their weight.
The 70-year-old explained that she usually thinks "skinny people" appear the way they do because of their "willpower".
However, when she started taking ozempic, she realized that this "willpower" was just the absence of intrusive thoughts of hunger, often called "food noise."
Winfrey made the startling revelation on the latest episode of her podcast, where she discussed the function and safety of these types of drugs with guest Dr. Anija Jastreboff.

"One of the things I realized when I first took GLP-1 was that all these years I thought skinny people had more willpower," Winfrey admitted. Daily Mail. "They ate better food. They could last longer. They never had chips."
"And then I realized that when I first took GLP-1, they don't even think about it," she continued. "They eat when they are hungry and stop when they are full."
GLP-1 drugs such as ozempic and Wegovy are commonly used to regulate blood sugar levels and have been shown to aid weight loss as well as help eradicate "food noise" by reducing cravings and slowing digestion.

Former talk show host comes under fire for 'thin people' claim
Winfrey drew the ire of many online with her bold claim about "skinny people", which in particular sparked the "food noise" debate.
"I beg to differ," wrote one person. "My experience is that even though I may be skinny...I think about food and I'd like to snack on my own time. I'm not immune to cravings."
"Skinny people also think about food all the time, but they work hard to meet their physical and mental needs in a healthy way, not by taking drugs," wrote another user.

"There are many thin people or others who are at a healthy weight but not necessarily 'skinny' who actually rely on willpower and strategic tactics to maintain their weight. They create an environment that unlike most of our society, is NOT obese," , a third person noted, adding that they "forbid" themselves to eat until they "walk for an hour."
"Just because you're on a new bandwagon doesn't mean you should speak in a way that suggests your perception of reality is definitive. It's not," the individual concluded.
Winfrey has received some support for her stance on the issue amid criticism.

Winfrey has previously denied using Ozempic for weight loss, criticizing the method as an "easy way out."
However, she came clean in 2023 after admitting it helped her lose nearly 150 pounds after decades of yo-yo dieting.
"The fact that there is a medically approved prescription for weight control and staying healthy, in my life, feels like a relief, like a redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and be ridiculed for once again," she said. Winfrey People Magazine.
She noted at the time that she was "done with shame" as she revealed she had used drugs to lose 40 pounds (18 kg) while incorporating regular exercise, such as hiking, to help her reach her weight goal.
Winfrey also revealed that her heaviest weight was 107.5 kg.

In his conversation with dr. With Jastreboff, the former "Oprah Winfrey Show" host discussed the public ridicule she was forced to endure over her weight throughout her career.
She said she now realizes that her size does not make her feel "less than others" and that she did not deserve such treatment.
"Every week (I was) taken advantage of by the tabloids, whenever any comedian wanted to laugh or joke about it, they would make a joke about it. And I took it because I thought I deserved it," Winfrey explained.
Why she started paying attention to her health

Winfrey talked about paying attention to her health and her desire to live a "more vital and vibrant life."
She explained then that the knee surgery she underwent in 2021 forced her to get serious about her health, and that she briefly outlined her exercise regimen.
The broadcaster added that her fitness and health routine is integral to maintaining her weight loss, saying: "That's it. I know everyone thought I was on it, but I've been working damn hard. I know if I don't work out and be careful in with everything else, it doesn't work for me."
"I was aware of (weight loss) medication, but I felt like I had to prove I had the willpower to do it. Now I don't feel that way anymore," she added, per People.
