Foxx expressed a balance between protection and letting his children live their own lives.

He explained, "I try to be visual in that perspective, but I also understand that they have to be kids. You have to let them, you know, live their lives. And, you know, things like that."

Foxx's daughter, Corinne, married Joe Hooten in September 2024 at his home in Thousand Oaks, California, and despite suffering a stroke the previous year, the "Django Unchained" star proudly walked her daughter down the aisle.

When asked about her own parenting style, Diaz, who has young children, said, "I mean, I have young children, so it's a whole different thing. I talk to my kids like, 'You know, that's not available. I know that you really, really want him, I get it.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Foxx was reluctant to accept that he had suffered a stroke.

His therapist advised him, "You have to kill the old Jamie so the new Jamie can thrive."

Reflecting on the experience, Foxx said, "God blessed me with money and fame, but when I forgot about God, He blessed me with a stroke."

As he returned to public life, Foxx knew that humor would be the key to his recovery.

"I knew I had to come back and I figured the way to do that was to be funny," Foxx told Norton in a preview of the episode. "I told so many jokes that people thought I was mad, and then I would act like someone else - I was Denzel Washington for three whole days."
