Brands such as Wendy's, Sour Patch Kids, Scrub Daddy, oreos, and Duolingoused the final hours of TikTok as an opportunity to leave a lasting impression on their followers.
While we now know that TikTok is back up and running, it's been a long 14 hours for many, so let's take a look at some of the brands' humorous farewell videos to reminisce about a time that was very much like the clock ticking before January. 1, 2000 (if you're old enough to remember that feeling of confusion and impending doom).

Duolingo had fun in the days leading up to TikTok's obscurity
Duolingo no stranger to entertainment in their marketing. They have shared many videos that have left a lasting impression on viewers. So of course the end of TikTok would mean they would just up their game and spread some joy and truth.
In one of their latest videos, using the "Family Guy" sound of "Griffins4U", they clearly revealed one of their ongoing secrets.
In a viral video that has more than 10 million views, they reveal who is in the owl costume.
"Since we're all going to die, there's one more secret I feel I must share with you," the audio plays as Duolingo's iconic owl enters the frame. The costume comes off to reveal "Mark was in the Duo mascot suit the whole time."

One viewer called it out saying, "Imagine if TikTok didn't get banned and now we know everyone's secret." A few minutes ago, after TikTok came back, Duolingo commented, "well this is awkward."
Before the app went dark, Duolingo shared a few videos about learning Mandarin and switching to RedNote.

Sour Patch Kids decided in the final hours of TikTok to be "cute this time" with a short but "cute" video showing the blue Sour Patch Kid exiting an elevator, captioned: "I'm on my way to buy Tiktok so don't get banned tomorrow ."
The comments section shared more greetings, and in a humorous way. Ollie's Bargain Outlet commented, "after TikTok is gone, I hope you all achieve all your dreams and goals in life. It was an honor to share this app with all of you and those good times. Good luck in life," The Sour Patch Kids replied, "I don't even know who you are."
Another viewer brought up the ongoing connection between Sour Patch Kids and Oreo, saying, "Oreo has been really quiet since this dropped." Sour Patch Kids replied, "Right."

One person said: "Why does my search feature suggest, 'What has Oreo done to spoil kids?' Why am I only finding out about this now that TikTok is going to be gone in just a few hours," and the Sour Patch Kids responded, "they know what they've done."
Shortly after TikTok returned to the US this morning, Sour Patch Kids shared a video with the caption: "TikTok really said sour, sweet, gone, SIKE."
Charmin commented, "YES, MY BEST FRIEND IS BACK TOO," and Hot Pockets added, "Oh, it's on." Many other comments encouraged the site to fight more with Oreo.

Oreos shared a teaser video announcing the new flavors on Saturday. They didn't actually go through with it, but many took to the comments to discuss the Sour Patch Kids beef.
"So the Sour Patch Kids are throwing shade at you," one person wrote. Another said: "Sour Patch Kids are trying to save us... and you're just teasing us."
And while some viewers shared their thoughts on the new cookie flavors, many others wanted the Oreo vs. Sour Patch Kids battle to escalate.

Wendy's is not only known for its fast food, but also for its dark and goofy humor on social media. Many of their posts left viewers scratching their heads trying to figure out what exactly was going on. Scrub Daddypopular sponge brand, took a fun approach to saying goodbye to TikTok. A few days before TikTok went down, they shared a video titled "This isn't goodbye. See you somewhere else," recapping some of the good times and benefits of using the app. Of course, there were also many laughs.
The video includes their partnership with Duolingo, a CEO in a row, lots of scenes with a giant yellow Scrub Daddy, and a big thank you to their more than 4 million followers.
Others video they had a slightly different atmosphere. The video shared the ultimate truth revealing that viewers left interesting comments.
"PLEASE BLESS YOU!" one person wrote. Another added: "Today's algorithm is absolutely insane and I'm here for it." Another viewer said: "The TikTok season finale was WILD."
When TikTok restarted on Sunday morning, they shared another one video asking viewers to "disregard my last post."
