Friends of Wendy Williams' the family is asking for donations from her fans to help speed her return to "her home in Florida."

The fundraiser has a goal of $50,000 and was reportedly set up before Williams' explosive revelations on Thursday.

The beloved TV personality said she felt like a prisoner in the middle of her guard, adding that she was not "cognitively impaired" as reported in the media.

Friends of the Williams family organized a fundraiser to raise $50,000. As of this post, $8,954 has been raised from 377 contributions.

The fundraiser's description reads: "An urgent GoFundMe fundraiser is being organized to assist the family of Wendy Williams in expediting her return to her rightful home in Florida."

It continued: "For too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unfairly placed in guardianship and labeled as incompetent, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently."

Williams' current situation was described as "unfair" and "deeply isolating", while it was claimed the guardian had handed her "broken ties to friends and family, leaving her without the support network she so desperately needs".

According to the fundraiser, Williams' isolation in New York "made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain her strength and resilience."

The final part of the fundraiser's description notes that Williams' family is "passionately advocating for her return to Florida where she can once again be surrounded by the love and support of those who care."

It is claimed that Williams' family is "suffering emotionally", testifying to how much her isolation has "affected her well-being".

However, the family of the former presenter "exhausted financial resources" in the fight against her "unjust custody".

They are therefore "in dire need of assistance to secure legal representation".

The fundraising description concludes: "Legal services can be prohibitively expensive, and without our support, they will struggle to navigate the complexities of the situation."

on Thursday, The Blast reported that Williams had a phone interview with "The Breakfast Club" and opened up about her conservation work.

The former host of the daytime show denied it her guardian's request that she could not reason for herself.

Williams he said"I'm not cognitively impaired, you know what I'm saying? But I feel like I'm in prison. I'm in this place where people are in their 90s and 80s and 70s... There's something wrong with these people here on this floor."

Williams' niece, Alex, who joined the call, also shared more details about her living conditions at the New York facility where she currently resides.

Alex discovered that her aunt had stayed in a small, bare room. She claimed that the room had only one window which did not allow enough sunlight.

Williams described her conservatorship experience as "emotional abuse" and broke down in tears as she discussed the prospect of not being present for her father's 94th birthday.

She explained that her ability to attend the celebration was dependent on her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, whom she described as "that person you're talking about who's holding me hostage."

Williams lamented: "I'm exhausted thinking about what if I can't see my dad for his birthday. At 94, the day after is not promised. My life is screwed."

She also noted that she only had $15 to her name before further revealing that her precious cats, who had been by her side since she moved to New York after her divorce, had been "sold" without her consent.

During the interview, Williams revealed that she had one-way phone access, meaning she could call her family and friends, but she couldn't receive calls from them.

Williams also claimed that her conservator has complete control over her life, down to her movements and finances.

Because of Williams' revelations about her living conditions at the New York facility, her niece said it would be dangerous for her to remain under surveillance.

Alex explained that the Williams family wanted the best for her and were better suited to take care of her because they knew her much better than an outsider would.

So she urged the public to raise awareness of her aunt's situation on social media by sharing "#FreeWendy" to help her get out of conservatorship.
