Rachel Kirkconnell has responded subtly to speculation surrounding her recent split from Matt James.
In comments on her last December 2024 Instagram post, a social media user theorized Kirkconnell's reaction to James' faith-driven breakup statement.
"The more I think about it, the more I think he completely blindsided her with it," the fan wrote Thursday, January 16. "Give him some grace and let him respond in his own time."
Kirkconnell, 28, subtly dropped a "like" on the message but made no further comment. A source now says our weekly That Kirkconnell himself was not split and blinded James' statement and post.
Hours earlier, James, 33, confirmed the pair had ended their relationship.
James captioned an Instagram photo from their time bachelor “Give us a peace (sic) about this decision to end our relationship which is beyond earthly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our joy comes from You, Lord 💔"

James did not elaborate on the reason for the split but kept his social media comments off the upload. Days ago, he and Kirkconnell were A joint visit to London and uploaded content from their culinary expeditions.
Kirkconnell was James' final choice bachelor Season 25, which was filmed in 2020. They briefly broke up after the final when Kirkconnell's past racially sensitive social media posts resurfaced online for the reunion a month after the live taping. After the final rose special
James and Kirkconnell remained distant for another three years, often becoming open about their hesitations about the engagement.
"I think when you feel pressure, you don't want to do anything," James Exclusively stated our weekly in June 2024. “So I never really felt pressure (to get hired) because it's something I've always wanted to do. It's something we're going to do at some point. This is why we are together and what we are working towards. I'm excited about our future."
Four months later, James hinted that a proposal was the "next step" once Kirkconnell chose an engagement ring he liked best.
“I feel that's definitely something we want. I'm in his time," Kirkconnell said During a joint appearance On the "De-Influenced" podcast in October 2024 "My problem is I must find a ring that I like and everything, but at that point it's up to him. … It's a problem, I don't even know what I want."
