Meagan Good spoke to 'God' amid Jonathan Majors assault trial

The lovebirds faced public criticism after Majors was found guilty of assault, but Good didn't let the negative opinions shake her love for her beau.

Good and her colleagues from "Harlem" were guests on "The Breakfast Club" on Friday to promote the third and final season of the Amazon Prime Video series.

During the show, co-host Jess Hilarious asked Good if standing by Majors' side during his trial was "a lot" to handle, especially given the public criticism and bad press that came with it.

In her response, Good explained that her faith in God helped her navigate through a difficult situation.

She said, "Literally, I talked to God... and I knew exactly where I needed to be. And along the way, I learned that not only will things not always make sense to me, but sometimes what makes sense" doesn't make sense to other people."

The actress continued, "It's fine, as long as you're in tune with God and you believe, you know, in the path you're on... and the more I've done that, the happier I've been."

It also spoke well of her relationship and her state of happiness. She said, "I don't know when I've been this happy before. Well, I think I might have been a child."

As Good and Majori' relationship progressed, there were rumors that it was a publicity stunt. However, Good's colleague, Jerrie Johnson, dismissed the speculation.

Johnson revealed that she lived with Goode early in her and Majors' relationship and recalled how the "Day Shift" actress felt about her boyfriend.

Johnson shared, "I remember Meagan coming home and saying, 'I think I love this man.' That was before it all happened, if they think this is staged - she's been doing it for 30 years.

Before her relationship with Majors began, Good was married to Columbia Pictures executive DeVon Franklin. They married in June 2012, but announced they were separating in 2021 before finalizing their divorce in June 2022.

The co-hosts of "The Breakfast Club" asked Good if her divorce from Franklin kept her from remarrying.

She replied, "I'm a very optimistic person... I really believe in God, even when... I don't understand... I have to rely on the fact that God knows what it is and what it should be, and God will take care of everything."

Good admitted that she questioned God at times, but expressed gratitude for her divorce experience.

She shared, "Now, sitting here today, I'm grateful for every part of the experience. I'm grateful for every part of the journey, every single thing that I went through, whether it was, man, anything along the way made me better, made me stronger me."

Good calls herself 'Coretta'

During her appearance on "The Breakfast Club," co-host Charlamagne Tha God asked Good if Majors proposed to her by asking her to be his "Coretta," in reference to the actor previously saying she kept him as Coretta (Scott - King) during his trial.

Good replied to Charlamagne's question by proudly declaring, "Ummmm... he didn't say that. But I'm still his Coretta."

She went on to reveal that she and Majors had planned to dress up as Coretta and Martin Luther King for Halloween, but decided against it due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

However, she suggested they might revisit the idea next year.

Good's recent interview comes two months after she and Majors announced their engagement at the Ebony Power Gala in Los Angeles.

The couple, whose romance was confirmed in May 2023, told the world they had taken a big step in their relationship as they walked the red carpet at the event.

Good boldly stated that she and Majors fell in love before she called him "the one."

Afterwards, she flashed a stunning diamond ring to the delight of the paparazzi.
