Jessica Alba is moving forward with divorce proceedings as reports suggest she has taken a significant step towards ending her marriage with Cash Warren.

Although the estranged couple have remained amicable for the sake of their children, Alba has retained a divorce lawyer, suggesting she will not consider divorcing them.

Experts have already estimated that Cash Warren could receive $2 million a year from his divorce from Jessica Alba, regardless of whether they signed a prenuptial agreement.

Alba retained a divorce attorney following her split from Cash Warren. Earlier this month, reports suggested the couple, who married in 2008 and have three children together, were headed for divorce.

According to People Magazinea source who revealed the actress' latest legal move said the couple are still "friends and all about the kids" but that it will be difficult for them not to formally separate because it has been "hard to keep the spark" in their marriage.

"No matter what's going on right now, it looks like they're going to stay close," the insider said. "If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of some hate drama. They still seem happy together. Jess has mentioned over the years that it's hard to keep the spark going."

Alba and Warren seemingly sheathed their swords as they put on a united front to celebrate their son Hayes' 7th birthday earlier in January.

According to US Weeklya source explained that the estranged couple plan to officially file for divorce "soon," although the proceedings appear to have been stalled due to the ongoing LA fires.

"Cash has been slowly moving things out of their house, but since the fire, they've been spending more time under one roof as a family," the source said. "They're there for each other right now because it's a very stressful time."

The insider also stated that the "Fantastic Four" actress will keep her home in Beverly Hills, adding that "it's all being done behind the scenes."

"They've had a lot of ups and downs like any marriage after being together for so many years," the insider continued, adding that Alba and Warren "have tried therapy and worked through past issues over the years."

Despite their efforts to make it work, the source said that "the romance between them is gone" and that "there have been trust issues in the past, which has led to a lot of fights."

Ahead of the couple's official filing, it has been revealed that Warren could come out of the marriage much richer due to the huge difference in wealth between him and Alba.

While Alba is the co-founder of The Honest Company, which is worth an estimated $609 million and was once reportedly worth over $1 billion, Warren is a producer who doesn't seem to have worked in the industry since 2015.

Albini and Warren's marital problems may have been brewing for a long time, as an old clip of her saying they were more like "roommates" has resurfaced.

The actress opened up about her marriage in a July 2021 appearance on Katherine Schwarzenegger's Instagram show, Before, During and After Baby.

"You don't consider their feelings the way you would consider other people's feelings, so I think that's something you have to constantly work on."

Alba was recently seen for the first time since her split from Warren was reported. According to the photos he posted Page Sixwas seen in LA on Monday, January 13, shopping at Erewhon Supermarket and heading to a park in Hollywood.

Like most of her recent public outings, she was sans wedding ring for the outing. Reports suggest she has been focusing on relief efforts in LA as wildfires continue to ravage the city and many surrounding communities.

On Wednesday, Jan. 15, she shared on Instagram that she "had the privilege of spending the afternoon at @baby2baby" on Jan. 14, "with so many beautiful souls, packing baby hygiene kits from the fire," adding, "This Friday will 750 kits to be distributed to children who were either evacuated or lost their homes in the Altadena fire."
