Stop me if you've heard this before, but The final season of The Boys was a complete bloodbath and left us on its darkest note yet. Viewers expected the worst with Prime Video's superhero satire series, which always seems to go the route of most cynicism. In Season 4, that meant the United States installed a puppet president to fulfill Homelander's (Anthony Starr) demands and impose martial law, all while our heroes were either scattered to the winds or captured. Oh, and if all that wasn't bad enough, the mid-credits scene even teased the return of everyone's favorite weirdo, Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles).

Well, if you thought things couldn't get any worse, you obviously haven't been paying enough attention. Season 5 is confirmed to be the final season of the show and is currently in the process of filming. Of course, since this isn't a hermetically sealed Marvel set in the middle of an Atlanta parking lot, that means set photos have made the rounds on social media... and all signs point to some of the series' darkest stories yet. Now we can talk about what sure looks like the main conflict of the upcoming season: all of Homelander's enemies, including many of our Boys, rounded up in fascist internment camps, rebranded as "Freedom Camps." Additionally, the appearance of a vehicle dubbed the "Kix Mobile" certainly points to a new Supes team set to poke fun at Marvel and DC alike. More details below!

The world of "The Boys" is getting ready to expand even more — and it might have something to do with it the well-received spin-off series "Gen V." Season 5 promises (threatens?) to roll out with a bang and, as seen in last year's finale, the various college-aged characters introduced in "Gen V" are officially starting to intersect in the main story. But just when we thought those would be the youngest new additions to the upcoming fifth season, some set photos have thrown another major twist at fans... though readers of the original comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson might recognize it.

Enjoy the Teenage Kix, a team of young Supes who represent this universe's answer to the more popular versions, such as the Teen Titans in the DC Universe or Marvel's Young Avengers (who, appropriately, seem poised to be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe). In the comics, Teenage Kix is ​​essentially intended as a parody of all those teen-oriented vigilante teams we've seen before. In this case, it was determined that they were funded and controlled by the evil Vought Corporation. And, even more intriguingly, we actually know a few former members of this team: the speedy A-Train, played by Jesse T. Usher in the series, and the devilish genius sister Sage (Susan Hayward), who was first introduced last season. (There's also Popclaw, who was played by Brittany Allen way back in the show's first season, but I'd rather not dwell on her particularly gruesome death.)

Since The Boys hasn't hesitated to play fast and loose with the comics before, it's theoretically possible that at least some of the Gen V cast could end up in the Teenage Kix adaptation. Granted, the van in the uploaded photos has the faces of a trio of young cast members on the side, none of whom we've ever met. We'll have to wait and see exactly how they end up factoring in "The Boys" season 5, which is set to debut sometime in 2026.
