However, due to the ongoing fires in LA, many publicity professionals think that staying on track with the proposed release date would seem "insensitive" and "tone-deaf", with many adding that Netflix should delay its release.

"I think Netflix bosses will have to make some big decisions about whether to air Love, Meghan next week," said UK brand and culture expert Nick Ede.

Ede went on to suggest that if Netflix postpones Meghan's show, it would be a "positive move" for the royal and the streaming platform, after years of constant scrutiny and bad press.

"A show like Meghan's is not time-sensitive, so it means it can air later," the expert said. "We know how important the community is to both Meghan and Harry and the last thing they would want would be a backlash to the show airing when they are currently doing more than ever to support those in need at this time."

Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suites: Harry and Meghan In Their Own Words, also shared Ed's sentiments, saying: "The timing of Meghan's Netflix show could hardly be worse as hundreds of people have lost their homes in devastating fires."

"The last thing anyone is interested in is a program about getting friends together to eat canapés or arrange flowers when the city is burning and people have lost everything," Dampier told the news outlet.

Dampier praised the couple for easing the pain of many victims so far, but said they "can't really win" because some will say it's a "PR move".

He added that it would be "sensible" for Netflix to "pull the show" and "bring it back in the summer" when things are better. However, Dampier noted that due to the extent of the damage it would "take years".

Dampier also suggested that Netflix "will probably want to go ahead with the show, but Meghan would be wise to ask them to delay it," especially given her relationship with the streaming platform.

The royal author also noted that while it's not Meghan's fault, he can't see the series being "successful in the current climate".

Dampier believes the series is the "last roll of the dice" from the company's point of view, and if it "doesn't fly" they would likely cut ties with the Montecito royal family.

"It looks so bad for her to go ahead with it, and no one will be watching in LA," he added.

According to the paper, other royal experts and PR gurus have weighed in on the issue, with Richard Fitzwilliams saying the show "must be delayed" or risk the Sussexes being seen as "out of touch".

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are doing their bit to support the fire victims as efforts to contain the blazes continue.

The former royals visited the Pasadena Convention Center, which is being used as an evacuation center, on Friday. They comforted the victims and distributed food and other necessities.
