Here's what happened in Alvera Meuti
according to News 5 ClevelandMeuti was found dead outside the Avenue Warrensville Care & Rehabilitation Center around 7:30 Christmas Eve. According to Warrensville Heights police, Meuti was allegedly last seen by staff at the facility on Dec. 23 at 8:40 p.m.
The nurse who last saw Meuti reportedly told police the 84-year-old "seemed normal and was sitting in his wheelchair talking."
Later, a second one was said to have been assigned to Meuti. However, at around 9.30pm, the nurse discovered that the 84-year-old was "not in his room".
According to the outlet, the second nurse believed Meuti had gone to visit her brother. However, the facility's visitor log showed no record of Meuti's brother. Additionally, the second nurse allegedly did not report the 84-year-old's appearance to fellow staff.

Around 12:30 in the morning, the nurse was said to be Meuti's brother several times. However, he did not answer.
"...she's a new nurse...and she wasn't sure what to do next," the police report says, News 5 Cleveland.
Around 6:30 in the morning, the nurse finally informed a colleague in Meuti that she was missing. A "code purple" was then issued, a search was made around the building and the police were notified. When an officer arrived at 7:30 a.m., nurses found Meuti "lying on his back" outside the facility.
According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, the 84-year-old's cause of death has been classified as "Environmental Exposure with Hypothermia." Police are investigating Meuti's death and how he ended up outside the facility despite needing help to walk.
