The Los Angeles Police Department has arrested an arson suspect believed to have started the Kenneth Fire. KTLA reported that on Thursday, January 9, Los Angeles police responded to claims of a person trying to start a fire in the Woodland Hills, California area.

According to KTLA, the Kenneth Fire started around 2:30 p.m. in dry brush within the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space, north of the 101 Freeway. By 9:00 p.m., the fire had spread to 1,000 hectares, and firefighters were 35% contained.

Dins also mentioned that investigators have not determined the individual's reason for starting the fire, which has already burned 900 kilometers in the Golden State. Dins also stated that the fire could be "a case of arson".

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman said NewsNation in an interview, according to The Hill, that the act could lead to a homicide charge, which could lead to a life sentence.

Hochman also emphasized their commitment to justice for the crime and their determination to send a clear warning through their actions.
