Jason Statham, who doesn't spend much time not kicking ass, is back with another ass-kicking action flick. Amazon MGM has released the first trailer for A Working Man, which was previously titled Levon's Trade. The big draw here is that Statham has reunited with the director David Ayer, who headed last year's shareholder The Beekeeper. Obviously, that cooperation went well, as evidenced by this reunion. Watch the trailer above.

"A Working Man" is based on the book "Levon's Trade" by author Chuck Dixon. Not to get too ahead of ourselves here, but this is also only the first book in Levon Cade's book series, which means we could be looking at a franchise here if all goes well. Not unlike Lee Child The Jack Reacher books, which inspired the Prime Video Reacher TV show starring Alan Richson.

Not for nothing, the official description of Amazon's description of Levon Cade's first six books says: “Levon is a bad ass. It makes Jack Reacher look like a crossing guard." Does the trailer back that up? That's for you to decide, dear reader! Meanwhile, the official synopsis for Iyer's film reads as follows:

Levon Cade left behind a decorated military career in black ops to live a simple life in construction. But when his boss's daughter, who is like family to him, is taken by human traffickers, his quest to bring her home reveals a world of corruption far greater than he could have ever imagined.

Working Man reunites Jason Statham with some trusted associates

Aside from Ayer, also of "Suicide Squad" fame, handling things behind the camera, "A Working Man" doubles as a reunion for Statham and his "Expendables" co-star Sylvester Stallone. The "Rocky" and "Rambo" star takes a behind-the-scenes role on this one as well, serving as co-writer of the script (along with Ayer) in addition to producing. This isn't the first time Statham has starred in a film written by Stallone, as the actor previously played the lead role in Stallone's 2013 action film Homefront. Suffice to say, the pair have had a good, long-standing creative partnership. As such, it seems like it could be very good for Statham at this stage in his career.

It's also worth pointing out that Ayer and Statham have made a good pair so far, commercially. "The Beekeeper" grossed $152 million worldwide and helped save the box office during a difficult period in early 2024. Stallone's presence only seems to further enhance the outlook here. At the very least, everything feels right on paper with this one.

The cast of "Working man" also includes Jason Fleming ("Snatch"), Merab Ninidze ("The Courier"), Maksimilian Osinski ("Ted Lasso"), Koki Falkow ("The Tribe"), Michael Peña ("Jack Ryan"). ), David Harbor ("Stranger Things"), Noemi Gonzalez ("The Valet"), Ariana Rivas ("Prom Dates"), Emmett J. Scanlan ("Keen") and Eva Mauro ("Keifer"). Behind the camera, Chris Long, John Friedberg, Bill Block and Kevin King Templeton join Ayer as producers on the film.

A Working Man is set to hit theaters on March 28, 2025.
