Meghan Markle Grieving the death of her dog nearly 10 years after adopting a beagle from a rescue in Canada.

"I've cried too many tears to count — the kind that make you want to shower in the irrational hope that the water running down your face will somehow make you not feel them or pretend they're not there," Markle, 43, wrote via Instagram Tuesday, January 7. And that's okay too."

Markle recalled the moment in 2015 when she met her dog she calls Guy. He was in a Kentucky kill shelter and was given a few days to live.

"I rocked him ... and fell in love," she wrote. "They called him 'little guy' because he was so short and weak, so I named him 'Guy.' And he was the best boy any girl could ask for."

The Duchess of Sussex said Guy was by her side when she worked with him Old blog, Tigand filmed scene for suit. He was around to celebrate all his milestones with her Prince Harry and their children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.

"When I got Engaged(and then married), when I became a mother," she shared. "She was with me for everything: calm, chaos, calm, comfort."

Markle shared several photos of Guy in her announcement, confirming that her dog will make some appearances in her upcoming Netflix show. With love, Meghan.

According to Netflix's official logline, the show "reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming" by featuring Markle "mixing practical how-tos with friends and candid conversations." It will also look at his life in California.

"Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you will understand why I am so devastated by his loss," Markle explained. "I think you might be a little in love, too."

In her personal tribute to Guy, Markle took time to describe a "terrible accident" her dog suffered before he left for the UK. For several months, Guy had to undergo surgery and heal away from home.

"Doctors said he would never walk again, but Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick Said he could do it,” she wrote. “H and I used to drive late at night, for hours, to see Guy as he recuperated for months in Surrey. I will always be grateful to Noel and his team, the team at Queen West Animal Hospital in TO, our vets and my friends and community: thank you for loving him so much.”

In a final message to her followers, Markle asked pet lovers to consider not shopping the next time they're looking for a furry friend. She continues to express gratitude for all the happy memories she shared with Guy.

"Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy," she wrote. "You fill my life in ways you will never know ❤️‍🩹#adoptdontshop."
