"Real Housewives of Potomac" alum Candiace Dillard not happy with how Stephen "tWitch" Boss's widow is, Allison Holkerhe said about him in a recent interview.

Holker said she discovered her late husband's drug addiction when she found an abundance of substances hidden in his shoe boxes.

The revelation saddened Holker, who had never known tWitch, to whom she had been married for nine years, struggling with so much she didn't know.

tWitch died by suicide in December 2022. He was 40 years old.

On Tuesday, Dillard commented on the author's post PEOPLE Magazine on X about Holker's interview in which she revealed how she discovered tWitch's drug addiction.

The television personality was unhappy that Holker had revealed so much about her late husband and felt she had failed to protect their children or his legacy.

Dillard wrote"I won't even say it. But this white woman does everything but protect her black children and her black husband's legacy. She could have kept this in her therapist's office. SMH."

A fan responded to Dillard's post suggesting that Holker may have used her interview to raise awareness about mental illness or drug abuse.

Fan wrote"I wouldn't do it, but could it be that her intention is to make people aware of mental illness/drug abuse, recognize the signs, and eliminate the stigma? I just hope she initiated it first from his family. Not that she does either which of them is easier."

However, Dillard he replied to a fan comment, stating that Holker should have taken her findings to a black-owned news outlet.

She wrote, "She (Holker) could have simply taken this story to Essence or Ebony where care would be taken to share such a tragically intimate story of the plight of the black man against himself."

Dillard's comments come after Holker gave an interview PEOPLE Magazine, makes a shocking discovery about her late husband on one of the hardest days of her life.

She said she found a "cornucopia" of drugs, including pills, mushrooms and "other substances" that she had to look up on her phone. The drugs were hidden in TWitch's shoe boxes.

Holker recalled, "I was with one of my really dear friends and we were cleaning out his closet and picking out clothes for his funeral."

She added: "It was really a trigger for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I didn't know existed. It was very alarming to find out that there was so much going on that I had no idea (about)."

Holker said she realized what she found out was a "really scary moment" in her life. However, it helped her realize that tWitch "was going through so much and hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that."

According to Holker, she and tWitch were honest with each other, including about his marijuana use. However, as she went through his journals after his death in search of clarity and conclusion, she discovered he kept painful secrets away from her.

She said: "He was struggling with a lot inside and trying to self-medicate and deal with all these feelings because he didn't want to put it on anyone because he loved everyone so much."

Holker also shared that tWitch alluded to being sexually abused by a man during his childhood, adding, "He didn't want other people to take on his pain."

Although Holker felt betrayed after discovering the tWitch's secrets, as time passed, she gained new insight.

She said: "Reading Stephen's journals and even going back to the books he read and the things he highlighted and sequenced really gave me a better perspective on where he was in life and the kind of things he was struggling with. I felt a lot of empathy towards him and sorrow for all the pain he bore."

Holker's interview comes ahead of the release of her memoir, This Far, which is set to be released on February 4. The book describes her journey of healing after the death of her husband.

During the interview, she expressed her desire to save even just one person struggling in silence by sharing tWitch's struggles.

She said: "It was really hard to put all the pieces together. Through certain discussions, even with friends and things that were said, reading his journals... you realize that he went through a lot as a child and never faced it."

Holker added: "It's hard to think that he's never opened up to someone and wanted to face it, to come through on the other side. I really hope that people who are dealing with the same thing will help themselves to come out of the shadows and ( knows) you'll be fine."

tWitch shared three children with Holker, Weslie, 16, Maddox, 8, and Zaia, 5.
